🚀 The 2025 Gartner Hype Cycle for Digital Identity is out now Two new categories are changing the identity game: 🔷 Identity Visibility & Intelligence Platforms (IVIP) 🔷 AI for Access Administration Veza is listed as a Sample Vendor in both. That’s not validation we chased; it’s where we’ve been headed from day one. We saw the visibility gap early and built a platform to fix it. Graph-based access modeling, risk-aware policy, machine identity governance, it’s all there. And it’s patented. If you care about identity security, this is the moment to understand why IVIP and AI matter, and how they move us past legacy IAM. While listening to this powerful conversation between Tarun Thakur (CEO & Co-founder, Veza) and Eric Wolf (Accel), I couldn’t help but reflect on how this episode beautifully mirrors the business lifecycle we study as MBA students. One line that stood out: “You don’t just found a startup once—you refound it many times over.” That statement holds true not only for startups but for any business navigating growth, maturity, and reinvention. Here’s what I personally connected with: Stage-fit hiring is not just a strategy—it’s a necessity In the early stages, it's the passionate, curious learners who drive momentum. As the business scales, the need shifts to people with systems thinking and structured execution. And when reinvention comes knocking, you once again look for innovators and visionaries—just like at the start. Product-market fit isn’t a destination—it evolves The Veza story reminded me that customer needs change, and the only “truth” lies in listening deeply and adapting quickly. One question from a prospect changed their trajectory entirely—how powerful is that? Leadership grows with the company From working with coaches to redefining co-founder dynamics, Tarun’s journey reinforces the importance of continuous self-reinvention as much as organizational reinvention. This episode truly resonated with my understanding of how businesses evolve through cycles—and how each phase requires a different mindset, team, and approach. Thank you Accel and Eric Wolford for spotlighting a founder who not only built a company—but kept building it again and again. Also thanks to Welingkar Institute of Management and Chandravadan Goritiyal,(DrCG) for your teachings and motivation for making us Market Fit to understand different stages of business life cycle . #BusinessStrategy #StartupLeadership #StageFit #ProductMarketFit #MBAInsights #GTMStrategy #HiringRight #Veza #Accel #TarunThakur #FounderMindset #BusinessCycles #LeadershipEvolution #Reinvention
An elite leader with an elite resume may not be what your team needs. On our latest Spotlight On, Accel’s Eric Wolford and Veza Co-Founder and CEO Tarun Thakur discuss what matters most when building a leadership team: practical problem-solving, systems thinking, and—above all—stage fit. Other highlights: ☑️ Why Veza’s first hire was an SDR ☑️ How to build a truly global team ☑️ How (and why) founders should hold their own ideas loosely Find the full episode: https://lnkd.in/eiaQxZce

Veza Chief Security & Trust Officer Mike Towers breaks down a hidden threat most security teams overlook—the financial impact of over-provisioned access. 🔷 Idle cloud resources 🔷 Unused premium SaaS licenses 🔷 Shadow IT from unchecked permissions 🔷 Service accounts running wild It’s not just a security risk. It’s a budget leak. Mike makes the case for why least privilege access isn’t just a security best practice, it’s a cost optimization engine. Read how leading enterprises are using identity security to drive down SaaS and cloud costs by 20%—and how to get your CFO to champion the shift: 🔗 https://lnkd.in/e2cB2QZx #IdentitySecurity #LeastPrivilege #FinOps #CloudGovernance #AccessIntelligence #Veza #CISO #Cybersecurity #SaaSOptimization #MichaelTowers

OWASP just dropped their Securing Agentic Applications Guide, and it validates what we’ve been saying: AI agents need dynamic permission controls that traditional IAM can’t deliver.
The new OWASP Securing Agentic Applications Guide v1.0 is required reading for every security leader. Anyone deploying AI agents without understanding their permission chains will have significant blind spots. AI agents are only as secure as the permissions they inherit. The guide emphasizes least privilege as a foundational control—not an afterthought. When agents can autonomously chain actions across APIs, databases, and cloud services, permission sprawl becomes an exponential risk. Key points: • Agents need granular, context-aware permissions—not blanket service account access • OAuth scopes and fine-grained API controls are table stakes • Real-time permission visibility is critical when agents operate across multiple systems • Memory persistence and cross-agent communication create new authorization challenges The guide correctly identifies that traditional IAM approaches fall short. Static roles can't keep pace with dynamic agent behaviors. We need continuous visibility into effective permissions—what can this agent actually do right now, across all connected systems? This is where modern identity security becomes essential. Understanding authorization relationships, enforcing least privilege dynamically, and maintaining that visibility as agents evolve isn't optional—it's necessary. For those building or securing agentic systems: please read this guide. The permission challenges only get harder from here. https://lnkd.in/eDkTh6Xw #AgenticAI #IdentitySecurity #LeastPrivilege #CISO #AISecurity

I recently saw Sam Altman (CEO, OpenAI) announce ChatGPT Agents. Sam's Twitter / X post about the new “ChatGPT Agent” perfectly encapsulates the immense promise and the inherent risks of the new Agentic AI era. The challenges Sam outlines—unpredictable actions, the potential for data leakage, and the need for careful, incremental adoption—are precisely the issues that modern identity security platforms are designed to address. That’s what we’re doing at Veza—we have cracked the code on permissions and entitlements, so organizations can finally start to take tangible steps and accelerate your organizations to build towards the principle of least privilege, including the modern AI Agents and Agentic AI systems.
