Before UI/UX even had a proper name, Ran Haiting Zhang was already designing gaming interfaces players actually wanted to use. After starting her career as a graphic designer postgraduation, she continued leveling up her craft and now joins us as the newest Senior Designer of UI/UX at WB Games Boston! Fun fact: Ran has a superpower. She can wake up exactly on time for any event – on the dot. No alarms. No reminders. Just pure gamer instinct forged from decades of playing with international friends across different time zones. (Some event rewards are simply too good to resist. 😏) Welcome to the team, Ran! #LifeAtWBG #EmployeeSpotlight

With a name like Dylan Swift, you may assume he sprinted straight into the gaming industry at the start of his career. But no. He took the scenic route exploring the music industry, managing political campaigns and even co‑founding an ed‑tech startup for teachers before finally landing in games in 2010. Now Dylan serves as our Director of User Acquisition at Warner Bros. Games where he oversees media planning, product forecasting, campaign management, performance marketing, advertising partnerships and marketing analytics. (TL;DR: everything AND the kitchen sink, TBH.) In his eight years with the company, he has amassed many fond memories such as singing karaoke with actors from the Harry Potter films and commemorating major game launches. But one specific moment rises to the top: “I remember everyone being dressed in incredible Harry Potter costumes for the launch of Hogwarts Legacy,” recalls Dylan. “Leading business meetings while a room full of witches and wizards stares you down – in full regalia – was quite the challenge.” Even so, he persevered through all the meetings that day with a somewhat straight face, and relishes that the heart of his job goes beyond campaigns and metrics. For Dylan, it’s all about being part of the stories that millions of fans worldwide (and he himself) care deeply about — and paying forward the mentorship he once received. “I work with many of the same colleagues who mentored me over 15 years ago and I believe it’s important to continue passing opportunities onto others like they did with me,” says Dylan. “It’s been a full circle experience mentoring new talent myself and cultivating a team of interns into experienced professionals.” When he’s not nurturing young minds or optimizing campaigns though, Dylan swaps dashboards for strings and moonlights as the lead guitarist in rock & dance bands. He did start in music after all. Rock on, Dylan! 🤘🎸 #EmployeeSpotlight #LifeAtWBG
