Bubs caught my eye in Retail Brew today. Swedish candy gaining NA momentum, partly in thanks to going viral on TikTok. Was stoked to see WordPress and Woo as the online tech stack, but with a twist: they don’t sell online direct. They’re using WordPress + WooCommerce as a catalogue layer to showcase product, drive discovery and credibility, and support retail momentum. And honestly, that’s kind of the point. Not every brand needs to transact everywhere. But every brand needs a home base: a place to control the product story, to validate demand, to support retail. A place where they're in complete control of branding and narrative. Woo + WordPress isn't just "ecommerce", it's a "commerce" layer. It's infrastructure for brand-owned presence, and I'm stumbling across more and more brands scaling through wholesale, retail, or distribution. Some of the interesting brands right now aren’t everywhere because they sell everywhere, but because of where they show up with control. And if and when they want that direct control? Hey it's a flip of a switch. Well, maybe a bit more than that... https://lnkd.in/eWkiBEHR
