Helping veterans thrive for a lifetime.
About us
Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) began in 2003 as a grassroots effort to provide care and comfort items to the hospital bedsides of wounded service members returning home from the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. More than two decades later, Wounded Warrior Project is the nation's leading veteran service organization, focused on the total well-being of post-9/11 veterans. Keeping the promise to care for our nation’s veterans requires the expertise and energy of a diverse and committed team. We build and lead programs that help warriors find purpose and thrive. We provide essential lifelines to families and caregivers. We advocate tirelessly with policymakers. We raise awareness to celebrate the service and honor the sacrifice of all veterans. The support of generous donors and corporate partners allows us to provide programs at no cost to warriors and their families. Talented WWP teammates across the country work together to ensure that no warrior is left behind. Together, we're changing the way our nation cares for veterans for generations to come.

What happens when warriors come together in a space built for movement? 🔥 At the Nike's Philip H. Knight campus, veterans pushed their limits, supported one another, and prioritized their wellbeing during a WWP physical health and wellness training camp. Now that's the power of community!

The answers were different. The message was the same. When veterans shared what helped them through difficult moments, the responses ranged from family, faith, and purpose to friendship and community. These stories remind us that connection saves lives. Throughout September, warriors shared what kept them here. WWP remains committed to ending veteran suicide by helping warriors access the support, resources, and relationships they need to thrive.

More than 140 golfers came together with one goal: making a difference for veterans. The Oneonta Charity Cup Golf Tournament, hosted by dedicated WWP supporters Patti Canner and Tom Thetford, raised over $90,000 this year. Over nine years, the event has raised over $400,000 to support life-changing programs that help warriors and their families. That's one amazing way to hit the links for a good cause! 🏌️ ⛳

A 9-line is the call service members use to request help when someone is wounded. For Marine veteran Juan Valdez, learning to send his own "9-line" after service meant reaching out for support when life became overwhelming. Read how hope allowed him to keep moving forward and find a new purpose by clicking the link in the comments below. 👇

Isolation isn't just painful. It's dangerous. Army veteran Chanté Franco shares how isolation led her to withdraw from others and struggle with thoughts of suicide. Through connection, peer support, and a community that met her where she was, she began to find her way back and now helps other veterans do the same.
