Are you building a video pipeline, or are you building a business? In 2026, the Infrastructure Trap is real. 💸 Too many brilliant R&D teams spend hundreds of thousands of dollars maintaining custom video stacks when that isn't their core business. 💸 If you’re in healthcare, public safety, or automotive tech, your value is in the services you provide to your industry, not debugging media server protocols. Read Don Kianian's deep dive on how OEMs are leveraging embedded video engines to reclaim their R&D focus and accelerate time-to-market. Stop building the plumbing. Start building the experience. 👉 https://lnkd.in/ghqmm3BJ #Wowza #WowzaStreamingEngine #OEM #developer #development #applications #appdev #developerrelations

AI has made it incredibly easy to vibe code a functional prototype into existence. You prompt an LLM, grab an open-source library, and presto, you have a media server. Or do you? As our latest blog explores, there is a massive difference between generating code and building a functional application. ❌ Edge cases surface that only 15+ years of industry history can anticipate. ❌ Protocol shifts (like CMAF or DRM standards) turn into a ticking clock of maintenance. ❌ Scalability becomes a financial drain on your specialized human capital. Don't let your media server become a distraction from your core business. Build on a foundation that has already chased the bugs for you. 🔗 Read more here: https://lnkd.in/g2596F5E #Wowza #WowzaStreamingEngine #vibecoding #mediaserver #videoserver #development #artificialintelligence #AIcoding #techdebt

In this conversation with Roastbrief, Wowza CEO Krish Kumar gets into why video is shifting from something teams watch to something they act on. A few things we see from our customers: - Most organizations already have the cameras. The gap is turning those streams into usable data sources in real time. - Demand is shifting toward systems that extract signal from video and connect it to real workflows - alerts, escalation, response - not another screen to monitor. - In many environments, the video can’t leave. Analysis has to run on-prem or at the edge, which fundamentally changes how these systems get built. How are you handling this today? Are your teams monitoring video or acting on it?
Video as Infrastructure: Wowza Redefines Operational Intelligence 🎥⚡ Krish Kumar, CEO of Wowza, presents a revolutionary approach: every video stream must drive action. Wowza is establishing itself as critical infrastructure, transforming massive video streams into operational signals that improve safety, transportation, and industrial efficiency. With AI at the edge, hybrid architectures, and a customer-centric approach, the company demonstrates that today “every business is a video business,” where real value emerges from connecting visual data with human decisions. Most companies treat video streaming server sizing as a guessing game. But here is the reality: ⬇️ Under-provisioned servers lead to dropped frames and service outages during peak demand. ⬆️ Over-provisioned servers bleed your budget without improving a single viewer's experience. The secret to scalable streaming isn't just power. It’s about balancing bandwidth, CPU, and storage. Right-sizing is essential for maintaining performance without skyrocketing costs. In our latest blog, we break down how to calculate the resources you need to handle real-world demand. 👉 Read it here: https://lnkd.in/gbCcYziT #Wowza #WowzaStreamingEngine #mediaserver #serversizing #bandwidth #memory #CPU #storage #streamingserver #videostreaming

Last week, the Wowza team took over Denver, CO for our 2026 Kickoff and it did not disappoint ⚡ We came together to align on strategy, set our sights on a big year, and strengthen the bonds that make this team so special. And of course, we had a little fun along the way, putting our competitive spirits to the test on a game show before teeing it up at Top Golf. Turns out the talent on this team goes well beyond office walls 🏌️ 🏆 Excited for what Wowza is going to accomplish in 2026. 📸 Photography by Steve Hostetler

In the streaming world, we talk about "real-time" as the holy grail. But if you’re monitoring a remote oil rig or streaming wildlife from the bush, speed won't save a constantly-buffering stream. Modern streaming is a fundamental tension between two priorities: 1️⃣ Reliability & Resiliency: Keeping the stream alive when the network fails. 2️⃣ Latency & Responsiveness: The sub-second speed needed for immediate feedback. If delivering video late is worse than lower quality (think drone piloting), go for Latency. If an offline stream is a total failure (think industrial CCTV), go for Resiliency. Stop chasing generic benchmarks and start architecting for your specific mission. 🔗 Check out our latest deep dive on how to balance the trade-offs: https://lnkd.in/gMTWhAYD #Wowza #WowzaStreamingEngine #streamreliability #videotechnology #video #videostreaming #latency #resiliency #reliability
