#grindr

Alexander Lin liked thisAlexander Lin liked thisAs many of you have heard through rumors or recent media articles, I am planning to leave Meta after 12 years: 5 years as founding director of FAIR and 7 years as Chief AI Scientist. The impact of FAIR on the company, on the field of AI, on the tech community, and on the wider world has been spectacular. The creation of FAIR is my proudest non-technical accomplishment. I am creating a startup company to continue the Advanced Machine Intelligence research program (AMI) I have been pursuing over the last several years with colleagues at FAIR, at NYU, and beyond. The goal of the startup is to bring about the next big revolution in AI: systems that understand the physical world, have persistent memory, can reason, and can plan complex action sequences. I am extremely grateful to Mark Zuckerberg, Andrew Bosworth, Chris Cox, and Mike Schroepfer for their support of FAIR, and for their support of the AMI program over the last few years. Because of their continued interest and support, Meta will be a partner of the new company. As I envision it, AMI will have far-ranging applications in many sectors of the economy, some of which overlap with Meta’s commercial interests, but many of which do not. Pursuing the goal of AMI in an independent entity is a way to maximize its broad impact. I will give some more details about the new company when the time comes. In the meantime, I’m sticking around Meta until the end of the year.

Alexander Lin liked thisAlexander Lin liked thisJust stepped off the keynote stage at #KubeCon NA 2025 in Atlanta! 🍑 It was an incredible honor to announce the launch of the Kubernetes AI Conformance program. 💡 The "Why" We are building the standard for AI on Kubernetes, to ensure that "write once, run anywhere" actually applies to AI workloads. We want to give developers guaranteed capabilities, from hardware accelerators to scheduling, no matter which compliant cloud or distro they use. 🚀 Key Highlights Standardization: We introduced 6 pillars of Kubernetes AI conformance (Accelerators, Networking, Security, Scheduling, Observability, Operators). Demo: I showed a demo of an AI inference workload running on a conformant cluster. Community Driven: This isn't just one company; it’s a massive effort from early adopters like Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, Red Hat, NVIDIA, AWS, CoreWeave, and many others. --- A huge thank you to my incredible co-leads Rita Zhang, Mario Fahlandt, Yuan Tang, and the entire Kubernetes AI Conformance working group for making this reality. While today is a huge milestone, it’s effectively Day 1 for Kubernetes AI Conformance. We’ve laid the foundation, but we need the community to help us build the rest. If you are running AI on K8s, we want your feedback to shape the future of AI on Kubernetes!

Alexander Lin liked thisAlexander Lin liked thisDuring the 2023 and 2024 Meta layoffs we ran a registry that got 3,000 ex-Meta people and 600+ companies, and hopefully made some great matches. Yesterday - Meta had a smaller targeted layoff where a few hundred employees in the new Meta Super Intelligence Lab (MSL) were cut. We're going to do another registry for the people affected and the companies that want to hire them. This time - I'm also going to include a form for *anyone* looking for work. This registry will be shared with the hiring companies as well! 1. Companies - If you are interested in hiring former Meta Super Intelligence Labs employees, please register here: https://lnkd.in/gHTjm5-B 2. Our CEO Jensen Huang joined Y.L. Wang, TSMC vice president of operations, and Ray Chuang, CEO of TSMC Arizona, in Phoenix today to celebrate the first NVIDIA Blackwell wafer produced in the United States. This achievement marks a huge step forward in paving the way for sustained American leadership in AI. Onshoring world-class chipmaking to American soil is crucial to meeting the growing demand for AI. Within the next four years, NVIDIA plans to produce up to one-half-trillion dollars of AI infrastructure in the U.S. — collaborating with TSMC, Foxconn, Wistron, Amkor Technology, Inc., and SPIL 矽品. Manufacturing the world’s AI technology stack in America will fuel innovation and bolster the US supply chain. The production of American AI factories is projected to create hundreds of thousands of jobs and drive trillions of dollars in economic security over the coming decades. Energized by "AI Meets Formal – Redefining the Verification Frontier". Just wrapped up an incredible panel discussion. I felt energized hearing from our FV friends on how they are seeing and seizing this opportunity to lower the barrier and increase the formal footprint. Huge shoutout to VC Formal and Sandeep Jana for creating this amazing platform where our formal verification community can come together to share insights and learn from each other. Key Takeaways : - Embrace, don't fear GenAI – It's time to face this technology head-on and make it our ally - Fundamentals still matter – Strong formal verification foundations remain our competitive edge - Think systematically – We need methodical, scalable approaches to GenAI integration for long-term sustainability - The barrier is lowering – GenAI is set to democratize formal verification, making it more accessible than ever #Intel #FVCTO #FormalVerification #EDA #GenAI #HardwareVerification

What We Learned from Recent Hiring for Bay Area Startups As we’ve been hiring for engineering, product, and sales roles across several Bay Area startups, here are some key lessons we’ve learned along the way: Cultural Alignment is Key: The best candidates aren’t just skilled, they’re a great fit for the company’s culture and vision. It’s all about finding people who genuinely resonate with the mission. Flexibility is Invaluable: In fast-paced startup environments, candidates who are adaptable and can juggle multiple roles or responsibilities are highly sought after. Collaboration Over Hierarchy: Startups value team players who thrive in collaborative, flat-structure environments. It’s all about strong communication and being hands-on. Excited to continue helping startups build great teams and scale effectively! #BayAreaStartups #HiringInsights #TechRecruiting #RamRakRecruiting
