What should one know about bringing phone calls/audio into Power Platform/Dynamics 365 solutions? Filipp Koivu gave presentation on Thursday in PowerUp! Meetup (Finland) and I liked it a lot. I have been building Power Apps that record voice and sends it to Azure for literation. This solution transforms the voice into text and gives possibility for Copilot to interact with the discussion offering insights. Session topic was telling about the key features of customer service solutions is the integration of a voice channel, i.e., phone calls, into the platform. On the Dynamics 365 customer service platform, there are two options for this purpose: 1. Microsoft’s native Dynamics 365 Contact Center voice channel 2. A softphone provided by a telecom operator, integrated via the Communication Integration Framework as part of a multisession app solution (currently, this means the Customer Service Workspace) Delivering a good solution requires understanding what these options are and how to compare them. Finnish telecom operators often try to offer the latter, but is that really a sensible choice? How do we fight bias in AI? My guest this week, Kaj Arnö (Executive Chairman of MariaDB Foundation), has a fascinating, hands-on answer. In Part 2 of our conversation, Kaj introduces Project Frederika, a grassroots initiative with a global mission. While its goal is to better represent the history of Swedish-speaking Finland on open data platforms, its impact is much broader. Kaj explains that since AIs are trained on data from sources like Wikipedia, biased or incomplete data leads to biased AI. The solution? Proactively fixing the source.
