This August, Frazier Healthcare Partners celebrates its 35th anniversary.
When our founder, Alan Frazier, established the firm in 1991, he had a clear vision: "We will invest in innovative companies that are improving the quality, accessibility, and/or affordability of healthcare." This was a novel approach to private equity. Alan was the first to believe that healthcare was large enough and complex enough to justify the full attention of a dedicated private equity firm. He was a pioneer, and Frazier Healthcare Partners became one of the first firms to invest exclusively in the healthcare sector.
Alan also had a clear philosophy for how the first firm would operate, grounded in a single principle: "We will leave everyone we touch better off because of our work together." That commitment extends to our portfolio company employees, the clients and patients they serve, the communities in which they operate, and the investors who entrust us to deliver differentiated returns.
While the healthcare industry has continued to evolve, the principles that guide our firm have not. They continue to shape how we invest, how we build partnerships, and how we approach our work every day.
As we mark this milestone, we're grateful to everyone who has been part of our story. To our employees, portfolio company leaders, investors, advisors, EIRs, and partners: thank you for your trust, collaboration, and commitment over the past 35 years. We're proud of what we've built together and energized by what lies ahead.
Here's to the next chapter and to continuing to invest in the people, companies, and innovations shaping the future of healthcare.
