Cary Gutwein liked thisCary Gutwein liked thisI'm thrilled to share that I've joined Copper Moon Coffee as Director of National Sales. Before anything else, a sincere thank you to my coffee cheerleaders📣. You know who you are. Your encouragement, mentorship, and belief in me have been instrumental to my career, and I wouldn't be here without you all. Those who know me, truly understand how much I love coffee❤️ Nobody knows it more than my husband, who has heard me talk about it every single day for years and could probably hold his own in a conversation about diffs and extraction methods at this point 😂 I've spent my career across Private Label, Brands, and Retail, and for a long time. I've been looking for the right place to bring all of that together, a company whose product I believe in and whose people I want to build alongside. I've found it with Cary & Brad. I also want to thank Tom Kriegsmann, who is stepping into a well-earned retirement. Between the big shoes and the relationships he built the right way, Tom has set a high bar. I'm honored to carry that forward and wish him all the best in retirement! I'm excited to learn from the deep experience on this team, contribute what I've picked up along the way, and help build the next chapter for Copper Moon Coffee. One more thing: I'll be exhibiting at PLMA F3409 this year and would love to connect with familiar faces and new ones. Come find me, lots of overdue hugs & smiles to give! The coffee will be great ☕

Cary Gutwein reacted on thisCary Gutwein reacted on thisFollowing my post yesterday, I wanted to share this video from one of our CCTV cameras at our dry mill in Armenia, Colombia. The footage captures the approximately two minutes from the moment the earthquake began until it ended. It is difficult to fully describe the intensity of an earthquake in words, but these images give a sense of what our team experienced and of the damage our facility suffered. Watching it again is sobering. Above all, it reminds me how fortunate we are that our team is safe. Some colleagues suffered damage to their homes, and our dry mill was significantly affected, but thankfully no one on our team was seriously injured. For Armenia, an earthquake carries particularly painful memories. On January 25, 1999, this city and the surrounding region were devastated by an earthquake that claimed more than 1,000 lives and destroyed or severely damaged thousands of buildings. Many members of our team still remember the terrible aftermath of that tragedy. Experiencing another powerful earthquake has understandably brought many of those memories back and made these past few days even more difficult to process. Thankfully, this time the human losses have been far smaller. While every person affected matters, I also believe this shows that we have learned from the past — through better construction, greater preparedness, stronger emergency response, and a deeper awareness of how to react when these events occur. At our dry mill, given the extent of the damage to both the buildings and some of our machinery, we are still carrying out a thorough assessment of the facility. At this point, we do not yet know when we will be able to safely restart operations. We are also still dealing with the loss of electricity at the mill. There will be buildings to repair, equipment to fix, and work to recover. But those things can be rebuilt. Over the past few days, we have been deeply touched by everyone who has reached out to check on our team, offer support, and ask how they can help. These gestures of solidarity remind us that, especially in difficult moments, we are never facing these challenges alone. Thank you! Our thoughts remain with all the families and communities across Colombia who have been affected, particularly those who suffered much greater losses. For those who are in a position to help, I encourage you to support the organizations and relief efforts working directly with families who have lost their homes, livelihoods, or belongings. Every contribution and every gesture of solidarity can make a difference. Armenia rebuilt after 1999. We learned from that tragedy, and we became more resilient because of it. We will recover from this too. We will repair what was damaged, support those who need us, and move forward together.

Cary Gutwein liked thisCary Gutwein liked thisCan the health benefits of coffee help drive sales? For over a decade National Coffee Association USA worked to change the narrative about #coffee and health - based upon the facts. Last year FDA designated coffee as a "healthy" food, as we had respectfully requested. With consumers interested in healthy choices more than ever before, is it possible to leverage the FDA's designation when marketing your coffee? Our free webinar this week (Wednesday 29 July, 1-1:30pm Eastern and on demand afterwards) will feature Sarah Brew, partner at Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP. Sarah will provide a practical overview of the FDA’s “healthy” designation as applies to coffee products, analyze the opportunities for voluntary use of “healthy” claims in labeling and promotional materials, and discuss regulatory risks and compliance challenges. For registration (required) and details, see: https://lnkd.in/eQMbKeSh We've also got comprehensive product labeling materials available online at https://lnkd.in/eaKrtPCv NCA: We Serve Coffee #specialtycoffee #coffeeroasters #cafes #coffeeshops #baristas

Coffee, including unflavored instant coffee, will be exempt from tariffs being imposed on 60 countries as a result of the Section 301 Investigation which has been underway since March 12, 2026, and just concluded. The Kentucky Distillers’ Association released its newest Economic Impact Report on February 2, 2026. This report is published every two years and provides one of the best snapshots of where the bourbon industry stands today. A few data points that stood out to me: • Kentucky’s distilled spirits industry generated $10.6 billion in economic output in 2024. • The industry now supports 23,935 jobs in Kentucky, including direct, indirect, and induced employment. • There are 17.1 million barrels aging in Kentucky warehouses, another record high. • Kentucky distillers filled 3.03 million barrels in 2024, indicating a slight slow down from the 2023 peak but still quite higher than historical levels. • The industry generated $371.8 million in state and local taxes in 2024, continuing a decade-long trend of rapid growth. At the same time, the report highlights some of the headwinds that have been discussed: exports are down from their 2019 peak, inventories are high, and some distilleries are slowing production as supply catches up with demand. Even with those adjustments, Kentucky still produces 27% of the world’s distilled spirits output and employment in the United States, reinforcing just how central this industry is to the Commonwealth. The bourbon industry has grown tremendously over the past decade. The next few years will be about balancing supply, demand, and long term global growth. I will link the report in the comments below. Curious what your take aways were from this highly anticipated report?
