Adapting (rather than creating) standards is a way to take advantage of work that has already been done, build upon a common language for security measures, provide benchmarks for comparison of readiness across organizations, and provide support for needed investments in cyber security capabilities. The innovation in this evaluation tool is that it that it allows an organization to quickly assess compliance with the various frameworks and identify the most important next steps based on their own current capabilities. No special software or download needed. CySAFE for Business is built in Excel and was released in February of 2015.

    A "home version" of CySAFE will be made available in the Summer of 2015.
