When I was 6, I told my grandparents I wanted to go to Harvard and be a pediatrician. And they said sure, let's see. I did.
When I was 17, I said, I can't go to a college where they'll make me write a thesis. I could never write something longer than 20 pages.
And tomorrow my second book is coming out. 336 pages.
Just goes to show you that even when kids think they know, you never really know what their future holds.
As parents, we toss out seeds - little skills and little experiences for our children to help them grow and learn. Some take, some don't. Some take 20 years to take.
But now more than ever we never know what their future will hold exactly. So we just aim to toss out a variety of experiences and hope for the best.
I can't wait to see what my 5 and 9 year old surprise themselves with.
