Edward Thomas shared thisSnapped this on a recent visit to Royal Caribbean Group's Miami campus - and I'm excited to share that I'm helping the crew source a Lead, Web Tag Operations to join the E-commerce Data & Analytics org. Here's why I think this role is interesting: Most tagging roles are reactive - someone files a ticket, you build a tag. This one is different. You're the strategic owner of how data gets collected across RCG's digital ecosystem, partnering with Web Product, Analytics, and Media teams before decisions are made, not after. You'll shape the Data Layer, govern Tealium iQ and EventStream, and make sure every downstream use case (analytics, attribution, audience activation) starts with clean, trustworthy data. The profile: • 5+ years in enterprise tag management — Tealium iQ + EventStream preferred • Strong JavaScript and debugging fluency • Real Data Layer architecture experience at scale • Comfortable with Adobe Analytics, Adobe Target, and media tagging (Meta, Google, Floodlights) • Consultative communicator who can bridge marketing and engineering Onsite in Miami. She was inspired by a real-life albino hedgehog I met through someone here in Miami. Tiny. Curious. Slightly chaotic. The kind of creature that looks like it accidentally wandered into a data architecture diagram. Last week I was on a call with Creatify AI, mapping out my avatar strategy. The original plan? Clone myself. AI Ed. Digital twin. The whole thing. Then I paused. No one wants another talking head explaining CDPs. But a hedgehog navigating thousands of integrations and making sense of the chaos? That actually works. So instead of building another “expert,” I built Lucy. A tiny guide to a very large problem. She will live inside CdpHub - helping you understand how your data actually flows, compare CDPs against your real stack, and make architecture decisions without the noise. No fluff. No sales pitch. At The AI Collective Demo Night at Mana Tech, a room full of founders showed up to demo what they’re actually building. I demoed CdpHub’s real-time AI avatar that delivers live CDP selection and pricing advice — think of it as a virtual consultant that helps enterprises cut through the noise when evaluating Customer Data Platforms. But the most interesting part of the night wasn’t the tech. It was the energy in the room. Founders building. Real products getting traction. Nobody trying to sell you a token. He had to fight the City for his permit (got arrested waiting for it) just to earn the right to show up every day. That’s the origin story of Miami’s first food truck, and it says everything about the man. Most days start at 3 or 4 a.m. squeezing lemons, hauling equipment, prepping before the first customer arrives. All-natural. All fresh. Every single day. That’s not hustle for the sake of hustle. That’s a standard. Kids who grew up buying from AC are now bringing their own kids. Tourists from Germany, South Korea, and France come specifically because they saw his face on a shirt back home. But here's what that silence is really saying: At $300B+ in market cap, Palantir Technologies is now the most valuable public company headquartered in South Florida - bigger than all the Royal Caribbean, Carnival, and Norwegian cruise lines combined times 2.2x (as of Feb 20). This isn't a satellite office. This is a $300 billion bet on the City of Miami. And the fact that they've said almost nothing about WHY is the most interesting part. When a company this large relocates with this little explanation, the strategic signal is louder than any press release could be. It makes me smile to see "Joy Goddess" featured on the We <3 NYC History table next to Ron Chernow's "Titan: The Life of John D. Rockefeller." Although A'Lelia Walker (1885-1931) and Rockefeller (1839-1937) didn't know each other, I've often wondered if he rode in his limousine past Villa Lewaro, the Walker home in Irvington, on his way into Manhattan from Kykuit, his estate in nearby Sleepy Hollow, NY.

Edward Thomas liked thisEdward Thomas liked thisI did not take the traditional path to becoming a CTO. I spent more than a decade touring as a DJ across 20-plus countries. I built a seven-figure production business. I led digital commerce for a major U.S. jewelry buyer. From the outside, those may look like three separate careers. They were not. Each one taught me how to build systems around people, transactions, operations, and trust. Years ago, while working in luxury jewelry, I watched teams struggle with fragmented inventory, manual pricing, disconnected sales channels, and physical products that lost their history the moment they changed hands. Then I met Jahreem Samuels at his store. He spent two hours describing the same problems inside a different category. Different products. Same broken infrastructure. That was the moment WRTH became obvious to me. I am not pretending to be the best engineer in every technical domain. That is not the CTO’s job. My job is to understand the system, identify the hard problems, assemble people who are exceptional at solving them, and make their work operate as one product. There may always be gaps in what one person knows. Serious technical leaders do not hide those gaps. They staff them. We are not outsiders building for a market we studied. We are insiders building the infrastructure we needed ourselves. #KnowYourWRTH
