Jim Pearl liked thisJim Pearl liked thisThe Men’s College World Series truly is “The Greatest Show on Dirt.” I recently finished my internship in Omaha, NE and it was an experience that I’ll never forget. Thank you to the CWS Inc. Staff (Amy Hornocker, Katie Karmazin, Elizabeth Clifford, Joey Gardner, and Carol Foreman) for their support and trust in me. I learned so much from their guidance in approaching different tasks and situations. Also, I would like to thank the NCAA Staff (Megan Hall, Matthew White, Jennifer Rodgers, Greg Bowder , MBA, and Tiffany Martin) for their advice on how to be successful in this industry. It was great learning from the best of the best and seeing all the behind the scenes work of a major NCAA Championship. And thank you to anyone else from the NCAA in which I may have forgotten. Finally, I would like to thank my fellow interns. It was amazing getting to work with people from across the country and getting to know everyone personally. Thank you to Chandler Estes for this opportunity. This internship was a life changing experience and some of the best two weeks of my life. I look forward to visiting Omaha again and continuing to stay in touch with everyone!

Attention larger fully insured employers! If you're unfamiliar with pooling points and their impact, especially if you've faced a challenging renewal, this video is a must-watch for you. Michigan insurance carriers are making significant changes by elevating pooling points, transferring substantial risk from pools to employers. In recent years, many major employers have witnessed a surge in pooling points from $100k to $175k, marking a 75% increase. This shift directly affects the rates paid by you and your employees, channeling high-cost claims dollars into your expenses. At $175k, the risk threshold for many groups surpasses that of most self-funded groups with stop-loss levels at $75k or $100k. Take charge and prevent insurance companies from passively transferring this risk to you. Opting for self-funding empowers you to proactively manage this risk. #InsuranceInsights #RiskManagement #SelfFundingOpportunity

Health Insurance Costs Are Out of Control These are real plan options from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois, and the numbers are staggering. Monthly premiums over $3,600–$3,800 for Silver PPO plans. Deductibles ranging from $3,000 to $12,000. Out-of-pocket maximums as high as $21,200. Even the Bronze PPO plan is nearly $2,800/month with a $17,200 deductible. For many families, that’s more than a mortgage payment just for health coverage, before receiving care. Something in our healthcare system clearly needs to change. #Healthcare #Insurance #Costs #BlueCrossBlueShield #HealthcareReform #HealthInsurance

The insurance industry has trained business owners to focus on the wrong things. Price and limits matter but neither tells the full story. Coverage triggers matter. Definitions matter. Exclusions matter. Endorsements matter. Two policies can have the exact same limits and respond completely differently to the same claim. At the same time, many business owners think the certificate of insurance is all they need to see. A COI only proves a policy existed the day it was issued. It does not show how the policy actually works and it does not prove the policy is still active. Real insurance advice lives in the policy language. #Insurance #RiskManagement #Business #Leadership
