Josh Bruns shared this'Full circle moment' doesn't cover it. Molly Rapert is the reason I fell in love with marketing. The projects in her class are what got me into shopper marketing in the first place - 25 years later, I'm back at the University of Arkansas - Sam M. Walton College of Business, this time setting the challenge instead of solving it. Grateful to Molly for the trust, and for the chance to invest in the next generation the same way she invested in me and my wife (well beyond the classroom). Excited to see what this class builds!Josh Bruns shared thisAs I planned this summer for my final year at the University of Arkansas - Sam M. Walton College of Business, I knew I wanted a unique and value-added opportunity for my students. For 70 semesters, I have collaborated with companies and thought leaders on corporate projects, always one of my favorite parts of the semester. In thinking through what I wanted my final collaboration to be, I turned to Josh Bruns. I have known Josh and Liz Bruns for a quarter of a century. They sat on the front row of my marketing class in 2001. They were joyful, smart, and generous people then. And they are joyful, smart and generous people now. Little did I imagine all those years ago that we would someday circle back to what would be my final collaboration. And Alex Gold. So excited to learn from you! The insights you shared today were thought-provoking with respect to the possibilities of AI, challenges for businesses and employees, owning the pursuit of knowledge rather than relying on others, advice on prompting, and so much more. Your wealth of tech-forward experience combined with Josh's unique background in client/agency - what a great combination for me and my students. Thank you both for your intentionality and commitment to creating a very unique opportunity for my students. I can't wait to see what unfolds. Fun fact: Across the 70 semester projects - spanning 1991 to 2026 - I have worked with 52 different companies. The person I have partnered with more than any other is Richard Lawrence. Rich's commitment to my students through the large number/scope of projects is unparalleled and I am also grateful for the work that Kailey Parker did in support of these collaborations. Heart and soul.

Josh Bruns shared thisSuch a privilege to lead a conversation with this stellar group of thought leaders: Charles Greathouse, Caylee Kitterman, Jeff Griffin thank you for sharing your insights. If you didn't get to attend, it is definitely worth your time! #WalmartSuppliers #RetailMedia #GenesisX #AIContent #CPGJosh Bruns shared thisLast week, we brought together a brand marketer, a former Walmart buyer, and two people who build the tools for a conversation about how retail content is getting made, deployed, and measured right now. A four-person team inside one of the largest CPGs on earth now runs e-commerce creative for twenty-three brands. Digital twins are replacing photo shoots. AI is scoring creative before it ever goes live. Walmart itself is producing AI content, and Sparky is running ads. The old model was not built for any of this. The teams pulling ahead have stopped trying to make it work. Josh Bruns of GenesisX moderated, joined by Caylee Kitterman of Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream, Jeff Griffin of Nfinite, and Charles Greathouse of Greathouse Retail. They covered what a supplier team should build, what it should buy, and what it should stop doing altogether. One of them hits not interested the second he realizes a video was made by AI. One of them shipped an AI video into Sam's Club and watched it carry a launch through the off-season. Both are right, and the reason why is the useful part. He then helped stand up Walmart Data Ventures and launch Luminate's first product, and spent the four years after that on the supplier side as Chief Growth Officer at High Impact Analytics. Thursday he takes the merchant's chair on the panel. What the content has to do before a buyer says yes, and where supplier teams keep spending on work that never moves that decision. He founded Greathouse Retail last month and is still doing this work with brands every day. Josh Bruns shared thisCongratulations on 30 years of building the future! Over 7 years ago, I pursued joining this company for 2 main reasons: (1) the promise of a company that is relentlessly curious and focused on building solutions that meet our clients' ever-evolving needs, and (2) the highest-quality owners, leaders, and team members. People with exceptional integrity and passion who are as wonderful to work with as they are brilliant at what they do. That's what still excites me every single day. Thank you Chris del Rey, Raquel del Rey, and Alex Gold for your leadership and allowing me to be a part of this amazing journey...Here's to the next chapter with this remarkable group and our amazing clients!Josh Bruns shared thisToday marks an extraordinary milestone. Thirty years ago, on July 15, 1996, DEL REY MARKETING GENESISX was born. None of us could have imagined the journey that lay ahead or the incredible team that would one day make up what is now known as GENESIS X. What began as a simple vision has evolved into a company that has continually embraced change, challenged convention, and pursued excellence. We’ve witnessed the rise of the internet, the transformation to digital marketing, social media, mobile, streaming, and now perhaps the greatest technological shift of our lifetime... artificial intelligence. Through every chapter, one thing has remained constant... our people. To everyone who has been part of this journey... whether you had been with us for a few years, decades or joined us recently, thank you. Your creativity, dedication, resilience, and belief in our mission have made this company what it is today. Every campaign, every client relationship, every late night, every breakthrough, and every challenge overcome has contributed to the story we’re celebrating. I’m especially proud that we’re not simply looking back at what we’ve accomplished... we’re looking ahead to what comes next. Today, GENESIS X stands at the forefront of AI powered creative production. We have the opportunity to redefine how the world’s leading brands create content, and I truly believe our greatest years are still ahead of us. Few companies have the privilege of reaching a 30 year milestone while simultaneously entering what may become their most exciting era of growth and innovation. Thank you for believing in our vision, for supporting one another, and for representing our company with integrity and excellence every day. As we celebrate the past 30 years, let's look ahead with the same entrepreneurial spirit, relentless curiosity, and passion that started it all on July 15, 1996. I’m honored to be on this journey with each of you. Here’s to our first 30 years... and to an even brighter future together. With gratitude, Christopher del Rey Founder & CEO DEL REY MARKETING GENESIS X

Josh Bruns shared thisOne week out from Sweets & Snacks! We were talking about this stat from the National Confectioners Association: 99.8% of U.S. households bought confectionery at least once in 2025. Nearly universal. Every brand on that floor is competing for the same shelf moment, the same few seconds of shopper attention...What wins is relevance. Looking forward to those conversations in Vegas. See you May 19–21. #SweetsAndSnacks2026

Josh Bruns shared thisThe challenge is no longer targeting shoppers...The challenge is operationalizing the content needed to actually capitalize on that targeting at the speed retail now demands. TJ Palladino does a fantastic job of sharing how GENESISX is reimagining that support for our supplier and agency partners. Definitely check it out! Where are you feeling the most pressure right now - Scalable content? Personalization? Speed-to-market? Internal AI adoption? Retail media execution? Shoot me a message and let's connect to share learnings!Josh Bruns shared thisJoin TJ Palladino, Head of Marketing at GENESISX, as he shares how Walmart suppliers can close the gap between their expanding media plans and the production infrastructure needed to feed them, unlocking faster launches, lower costs, and measurable sales lift at the shelf. Watch It Now! https://lnkd.in/g32Ssq2x GENESISX is an AI Creative Studio that closes the gap between brand strategy and media activation. Most Walmart suppliers have strong agency partners and solid media plans. What they lack is the content infrastructure to feed those plans in real time. That mismatch is where relevance and market share get lost. The GENESISX production system takes a single brand idea and transforms it into hundreds of tailored, channel-ready creative versions, activating across Walmart Connect, CTV, social, programmatic, and in-store formats. Brands keep their existing agency relationships intact. GENESISX removes the production bottlenecks slowing them down, reducing costs by 60% and accelerating launch timelines by 10X. At the center of the platform is APP>LESS, the award-winning mobile mini-site that reaches the exact Walmart shopper most likely to buy, before they enter the store, at the moment of decision, and through post-visit retargeting. Powered by 1,800+ real-time data signals. No app download required. Real human engagement, not inflated impressions. Design is included at one price. With 3,000 campaigns delivered, a 4X average ROAS, and clients including Procter & Gamble, PepsiCo, The Coca-Cola Company, Kraft Heinz, and Walmart itself, GENESISX gives every Walmart supplier access to the creative infrastructure the world's most powerful brands already rely on. Effective Marketing… • 4K followers
Food and beverage brands are investing across more channels than ever before. Retail Media Networks, paid search, paid social, connected television, and in-store activations all contribute to demand. Yet one challenge continues to surface at the executive level: How do we clearly prove marketing’s impact on real business growth? The Nielsen 2025 Annual Marketing Report highlights a growing gap between media investment and ROI understanding. While budgets expand, holistic measurement remains the exception rather than the norm. Nielsen’s global data shows that only a minority of marketers measure digital and traditional media spending holistically. Fragmented reporting across platforms continues to dominate decision making. https://lnkd.in/gM7rqG49 The consequences are structural. Disconnected data systems, inconsistent metrics, limited cross-channel visibility, and internal silos all restrict how performance is interpreted. Teams can observe activity, but struggle to quantify true impact. Retail Media Networks add another layer of complexity. RMNs provide powerful closed-loop signals tied to purchases, yet those insights typically remain confined within individual platforms. Strong performance inside one ecosystem does not automatically translate into a full understanding of cross-channel influence. Nielsen’s findings reinforce a critical reality. Many brands understand channel results in isolation, but lack a unified view of how marketing works together to drive incremental revenue, customer growth, and long-term brand effects. Closing this gap is no longer a reporting upgrade. It is becoming a strategic priority.🚨 Effective addresses these challenges in the following ways: 1. Measure everything individually - Use the partner-level ROAS, foot traffic, brand lift and/or sales lift studies to measure goal vs actual performance 2. Measure everything together - Measure how the total plan performs vs brand and business goals and vs year ago. When applicable, measure test vs control markets. 3. Measure brand ad spend and sales relative to competition. Effective's persistent share report brings annual competitive analysis into monthly performance reporting. It allows us to measure SOV and SOM on an ongoing basis. It just one of the unique approaches we take. DM to learn more or refer a friend. So, to my fellow statisticians and measurement pros: If you can measure every channel individually but still can't explain how your total media investment drove incremental revenue last quarter — do you actually have a measurement strategy, or just a collection of reports? #MarketingMeasurement #RetailMedia #MediaStrategy #F&B #OmnichannelMarketing #MarketChallenge Dan Rosenberg Andy Crestodina Noel Burkman James Soto Jay Gutierrez

Today, grocery retailers aren’t viewing in-store retail media as a collection of isolated placements anymore. They’re leveraging it as a strategic growth engine—shaping shopper behavior in real time, influencing decisions right at the shelf, and connecting trips and baskets with greater intelligence. The store itself is becoming more programmable, more measurable, and far more experience-driven. Retail media isn’t just expanding. It’s evolving—transforming the physical store into a dynamic, data-powered environment that drives both engagement and performance. ❗ As reported by Beer Business Daily covering the BUMP Williams Consulting Distributor Outlook Survey (check both of them out) - 60%+ of distributors are targeting craft beer for SKU reduction ❗ This does not mean that they are going to cut a dozen of your peers out of the book and keep all 25 brands (77 SKUs) of yours. They are going to seek out the work horses and leave the rest behind. If you haven't had the hard conversations about focus and building high velocity performers yet, get on it. The short term pain of cutting low performing SKUs on your own is worth the long term gain always. However, in this case it will probably be done for you if you don't.

Lamar Advertising Posts Strong 4Q Results “We ended 2025 with encouraging sales momentum, with growth in both local and national in the fourth quarter, even with a tough political comp,” chief executive Sean Reilly said. “That strength continued into 2026, and pacings for the balance of the year remain promising. For the full-year, we anticipate diluted AFFO per share to be between $8.50 and $8.70.” https://lnkd.in/gmJaq_Te #BizNewOrleans Lamar Advertising Company

Kroger cut its 2026 identical-store sales outlook and still spent the call talking up natural, ecommerce, and retail media as the growth path. I want brands to hear the other half of that story. Growing those channels does not fix a weak everyday price image, and a lot of the funding still comes out of supplier P&Ls. Identical-store sales excluding fuel are now guided to 0.2% to 0.8% for the year. Natural and Private Selection were bright spots on the call, and retail media was up sharply. Meanwhile Consumer Reports basket work still has Kroger banners meaningfully above Walmart on identical branded items, with Aldi cheaper still. Greg Foran has said he is cutting prices on thousands of items to close that gap, and that more than half of customers do not fully understand the current promo package. Price cuts have to be paid for. On the same calls the money trail runs through cost takeout, private brand expansion, supplier negotiations, and Kroger Precision Marketing. Smart Way is headed from roughly 130 items toward 1,000. Our Brands is growing faster than national brands. From the brand side that looks like more asks for trade, media, and shelf justification while the retailer tries to buy a better price image from the consumer, with your money. At the end of the day, consumers still walk into Walmart and Aldi and compare shelf tags. We are skeptical that retail media growth and private brand leverage replace a clear, competitive everyday price. Kroger is addressing symptoms, and not a root cause. For CPG brands, this certainly diminishes the previous pedigree of earning a category slot with Kroger, as now they are more often looking at you as a media revenue source instead of an item customers want.
