There’s a lot that goes into opening a new store that you don’t necessarily see from the outside — and this opening was a really good reminder of why I love the relationship between SET and LEAP so much. We strategized, pivoted, problem-solved, came in early, stayed late, trained, merchandised, helped our contractors, moved things around, changed plans on the fly, and jumped in wherever we were needed. There were definitely moments where the plan changed a LOT — but everyone kept showing up for each other and figuring it out together. That’s what I think makes this partnership so special. It’s not just about opening a beautiful store. It’s about being willing to roll up your sleeves, support one another, and do whatever it takes to get across the finish line — together, as one team. And then, after all the setup, the schedules, the strategy and the chaos, we get to do the best part: open the doors and meet our SET community. Our community will always be the heart of what we do, and getting to see people come in, connect with the brand, and genuinely have fun in the space makes every early morning and late night worth it. Saks Global, the parent company of luxury retailer Saks Fifth Avenue, has announced plans to close dozens of Saks Off 5th stores, marking a significant pullback from the off-price retail segment as the company restructures its operations. The decision comes amid mounting pressure on brick-and-mortar retailers facing rising costs, shifting consumer habits, and intensified competition from online and discount rivals.
