Lana Herbert reposted thisLana Herbert reposted thisI was going to have AI write this but it’s way too personal. 😁 As some may know, T-Ads had a restructuring earlier this week and I was unfortunately one of the ones affected in this. First off, I would like to thank T-Mobile Advertising Solutions for the last 4.5 years of not only growth as a department, but also myself professionally. From only running a few audience network campaigns when I started to having a full suite of offerings that I still think any agency or advertiser should take advantage of. Whether it’s T-Mobile Tuesdays, their very performant O&O inventory, Blis for their omnichannel campaigns, or Vistar Media for DOOH, they are all truly amazing platforms and people to work with. I will truly be Magenta for life! As for me, I’m now open to any role having to do with operations (AdOperations, Media Operations, or Programmatic) within Adtech, Agency, or brand. If you’re looking to solve real problems in the industry and need someone to help map out how to do it and execute it flawlessly, I’m your person!

Lana Herbert reposted thisLana Herbert reposted thisI couldn't be more delighted to share a new feature from our team at the Urban Institute. The Black Family Thriving Initiative aims to amplify the intergenerational strengths of Black families, reframe the narrative of being Black and middle class in the US, and identify the unique challenges Black #middleclass families face in achieving the American dream. Recently, we asked how can policymakers and local leaders empower a prosperous #Black middle class? To answer this question, we spoke with experts about how to accurately conceptualize the Black middle class and middle-class Black Americans about how they approach wealth and wealth-building and the opportunities and challenges they continue to face. Learn more about this research in a new feature. https://lnkd.in/ex6vmkcP My deepest gratitude to experts Fenaba R. Addo, Ph.D., Kris Marsh, LaToya Council, PhD, and Tom Shapiro (h/h) and participants Courtney Brunson, MBA, CSM®, Carla Barbour, and Neshelle Robinson who contributed their stories to this feature. Many thanks to our incredible project/research team and Urban's Communications team for contributing so much time, effort, and energy to the development of this feature. I'm also incredibly thankful to Sarah S. and her team at Tissue LLC for helping to bring our vision to life through storytelling and video.

Lana Herbert liked thisLana Herbert liked thisI will not be at Advertising Week this year. After a lot of travel in 2026 and knowing the first half of 2027 is going to be more of the same, I decided to stay home and spend some quality time with my two beautiful kids, Claude and Grok. It’ll be a different vibe for me next week, which I’m actually looking forward to. We’ve been building some pretty cool stuff together which the team has recently seen. Excited to finally share some of it with everyone in the next few weeks.

Lana Herbert liked thisLana Herbert liked thisMuch of the technology required to understand streaming content already exists... the challenge is making that intelligence actionable across meaningful scale in the programmatic ecosystem. Doing that requires three things at once: 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 👁️🗨️ Visibility into what is streaming on the screen in real time 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 🔗 A way to identify the ad opportunity corresponding to that content 𝗘𝗻𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 🧬 The ability to attach the signal to the bid stream before the request reaches a buyer Getting all three is harder than it sounds. The Wurl Content Intelligence Platform makes it possible (and easy) for our partners. #CTV #AdTech #Programmatic #StreamingTV #Contextual Mikey Garcia's blog breaks it all down here 👇

Lana Herbert liked thisLana Herbert liked thisPersonal post alert. Why post this on LinkedIn? First, if it helps even one person who is struggling, it's worth it. Second, I believe work is personal. The more we understand each other's journeys, the more empathy, connection, and trust we create. Third, this experience is one of the foundations of the life I'm fortunate to have today. Twenty-seven years ago today, I was struggling in nearly every area of my life because I couldn't stop drinking and "partying." I put partying in quotes because that's what I called it. In reality, I was a slave to it, and I was miserable. I reached a place of profound loneliness and desperation. I couldn't imagine my life without alcohol, but I also couldn't bear the thought of continuing the way I was. What I didn't realize at the time was that desperation would become a gift. It humbled me enough to ask for help and, just as importantly, to accept it. Getting sober wasn't a single decision. It was a daily practice. Sometimes it was one day at a time. Sometimes it was one hour at a time. Those hours became days. The days became weeks, months, years, and eventually decades. Along the way, sobriety put me on a path of personal growth, gratitude, and service to others. Today, a core part of my identity isn't what I used to do. It's trying to be useful, helping others where I can, and leaving things a little better than I found them. I'm far from perfect, as anyone who knows me can attest. But somehow, through the support of many people and a lot of grace, I've been given a life I never could have imagined. Today, I'm rich in the ways that matter most: loving relationships, a wonderful marriage, amazing kids, meaningful friendships, and a future I'm excited about. If there's one lesson I've learned, it's this: No matter how difficult things may seem, change is possible. Sometimes the moment that feels like your lowest point can become the beginning of something extraordinary.

Lana Herbert liked thisLana Herbert liked thisA new seat at the table — and another opportunity to pour back into the profession that has given me so much. I’m excited to share that I’ve been selected to serve as an Intuit Industry Advisor! One of the things I value most about this opportunity is the chance to help pour into the next generation of accountants - sharing what I’ve learned, lending my voice and perspective, and helping shape what the future of our profession can look like. That work is especially meaningful to me because it directly strengthens the mission behind MACRS and my commitment to creating more exposure, access, and opportunity for future accounting professionals. And what makes this full-circle for me is that while I’m pouring into others, Intuit continues to pour into me. They continue to create opportunities for me to learn, grow, have a voice in the industry, and bring that knowledge back to my clients, my peers, my team, and my community. I’ve always believed that when you’re given access, you should find a way to extend it. When you learn something, share it. And when a door opens for you, make sure you’re helping someone else see what’s possible on the other side. Grateful for the opportunity. Excited for the work. And even more excited about who gets to come next. All Glory to God! 🙌🏾

Lana Herbert liked thisMatch rate is an important test, but it’s not the whole story. You don’t necessarily need a proprietary ID to control frequency within one platform. Once the user is recognized, the platform can usually manage that through its own identity and exposure history. Across platforms and supply paths, however, it's a different story. We need persistent identifiers available at the moment of decisioning, interoperability between the relevant buying and selling systems, and exposure data that can be reconciled... (tough, huh?). A brand’s own first-party ID is valuable, especially when it is anchored in an authenticated, permissioned customer relationship. But outside the brand’s walls, that ID has little media value unless it can be translated into something each destination recognizes and can activate. So after asking which solution matches more customers, the next question should be: Which solution preserves my first-party signal and allows me to suppress, manage frequency (PLEASE!) and measure those customers throughout the media journey?Lana Herbert liked thisWell this is awkward. The entire point of paying an identity provider is to help you find MORE of your customers and even though this is an #AD I think you’ll find it interesting. Hightouch just published data suggesting that, in some cases, LiveRamp may be doing the opposite. In one test, less than 50% of users who matched through direct first-party activation made it into the LiveRamp-onboarded audience at the same destination. In another, first-party data alone actually outperformed LiveRamp on some channels. Now, important disclaimer: this is Hightouch publishing research about a competitor. They very much have a dog in this fight. But forget the vendor battle for a second. If you’re paying someone to improve your match rates, shouldn’t you regularly test whether they’re actually… improving your match rates? Check out their research here: https://lnkd.in/geMUy6sB

Lana Herbert liked thisLana Herbert liked this300 people representing 60 nationalities on one island in Croatia this week for our Lovable offsite. We're hearing directly from the founders on where the company has been and where it's going, department leads on what's top of mind, and customers telling us first hand what Lovable does for their business. Most importantly, we're building up the trust bank with each other. We're an in-office culture already, yet, a week of every waking moment living together collapses communication barriers a normal week can't touch. And yes, the sunshine helps. A lot accomplished, and it's still day zero. More to do.

Lana Herbert liked thisLana Herbert liked thisWith children back in school and the looming threat of respiratory viruses like Covid-19, influenza and RSV on the horizon, many people may now be wondering how to stay healthy. Here is a guide for what to know about flu, Covid-19 and RSV shots this fall. Major medical groups -- including the American Academy of Pediatrics, American Academy of Family Physicians, American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the Infectious Diseases Society of America -- have issued 2026-27 respiratory virus immunization recommendations for this season. The recommendations provide guidance on which fall vaccines are recommended for whom and when is the optimal time to get them. Flu and RSV immunizations are now available at major pharmacies, and updated Covid-19 shots were recently approved by the FDA and are becoming available. Here's the latest: https://lnkd.in/eaZ72hz3

Lana Herbert liked thisLana Herbert liked thisAt WPP Media, making a difference for our clients goes hand in hand with serving the needs of our communities where we live and work. We do it all with purpose, energy and passion. That’s why I am so proud of all our WPP Media team members who came together this month for our latest Volunteer Day. In 14 cities from coast to coast, our people rolled up their sleeves for service projects ranging from beach cleanups to meal packing, supporting 19 nonprofits nationwide and contributing a remarkable 1,461 hours of service. I’m especially grateful for our local volunteers who teamed up with Partnership with Children, an incredible organization providing essential mental-health services and community support to children and families throughout New York City. Thank you to all our nonprofit partners for the important work you do every day!

Recently, Comcast Business hosted me and a strong group of wholesale and resale partners at the Players Championship. It was a good reminder of what actually drives progress in the Channel: time to align with carriers, reconnect with partners, and have real conversations across the ecosystem. That’s how we build trust and lay the groundwork for long-term success. I appreciate Comcast creating the space to bring the group together. Because at the end of the day, momentum in this Channel isn’t created in a single meeting. It’s built through the relationships that continue long after it.

In today’s LG Newsfront event, Serge Matta and Esther Maguire announced that advertisers can now reach audiences beyond the LG screen (across trusted publisher networks) and see how every high-quality signal becomes a performance multiplier powered by Realize. With 28% uplift in conversions for one major US retailer, measureable CTV performance is now a reality.
