Y Combinator just published their Request for Startups for Spring 2026. One of the seven categories they want to fund: AI-native agencies. Their thesis is simple — agencies have always been hard to scale. Margins are low, work is manual, growth means hiring more people. AI changes that equation. YC's exact framing: "The next generation of agencies will look more like software companies than service firms." I immediately thought about events. Two companies are already taking the first steps to make this possible: Nowadays (YC S23) built a platform that automates venue sourcing — their AI contacts venues by email and phone, handles negotiations, and presents the best options. They've facilitated $4M+ in bookings for Google, Amazon, and Notion. Aletheia is building an AI-powered intelligence platform for event operations — connecting your tools, syncing your files, and deploying AI agents that turn messy documents into execution-ready event plans. Both are replacing hours of manual work with systems that deliver finished outcomes. If you run a production company, agency, or venue sourcing firm, tools like these will help drive two key business outcomes: Higher margins. Every hour your team spends on repetitive research, contract comparison, or timeline building could be handled by a well-built internal system. Better service. When AI handles the structured, repeatable work, your team spends more time on what actually matters — client relationships, creative problem-solving, and on-site crisis management. The exercise I'd encourage every event services company to do right now: Map your entire fulfillment process. Sort every touchpoint into three buckets: → Standardized software (CRM, invoicing, automated emails) → AI (research, drafting, analysis, pattern recognition) → Human (client conversations, strategic decisions, relationships) Be honest about which steps actually need a human and which ones you're doing manually out of habit. The events industry is a $1.1T market that still runs on spreadsheets and email chains, and the companies that systematize first will have an advantage that only compounds. How should you think about your burn rate as a pre-PMF startup to maximize your probability of finding PMF? I've changed my mind about this over time, from my natural inclination to "spend as little as possible to extend runway as much as possible". Typical early-stage venture-backed startup: - You're burning $25k per month - You're currently having ~10 sales conversations per month - Your startup's limiting factor is "learning from sales conversations" - if you could go from 10 ->20 sales conversations per month, you would learn ~2x as fast. In this situation, my natural inclination - "spend as little as possible to extend runway as much as possible" - isn't right. It feels right, because I'm extending my runway, but what I really need to be optimizing for is not total length of runway but "probability of finding PMF"... in a metric, something like "learning-per-dollar-of-burn." *If* I can spend some amount of money to go from 10->20 sales conversations per month, I am essentially pulling a month of learning forward - which would have cost me $25k burn. The cost of doing this is usually a few hundred or a few thousand dollars, which might seem expensive, but put into the context of "learning-per-dollar-of-burn" it's actually very much worth it. Which means: -> Go to that conference -> Invest in whatever helps you do better outbound -> Know what your limiting factor is (hint: it's almost always volume of sales conversations for early-stage startups) -> When your limiting factor changes, your spending patterns should change too

Y Combinator’s Spring 2026 RFS is out. 7 problem areas they think are worth building right now. Here’s what everyone misses about RFS lists: They reflect opportunity, not urgency. YC’s list includes: ∙ Cursor for PMs ∙ AI-Native Hedge Funds ∙ Stablecoin Financial Services ∙ AI for Government Notice the pattern? Greenfield plays. Build something new from scratch for markets with abundant capital. LatAm’s actual strength? Brownfield transformation. Taking broken infrastructure, inefficient markets, and legacy workflows, and fixing them with technology that already exists. Not sexy. Definitely not on the RFS. But that’s where urgency lives. The real RFS for LatAm founders isn’t written by YC: → What problem do you live every day? → What inefficiency makes you irrationally angry? → What are you building whether investors fund it or not? But here’s what caught my eye: YC putting stablecoins back on the RFS isn’t new opportunity, it’s validation. LatAm founders have been building this infrastructure for years: Valiu, Littio, Contigo, Rio, Blaze, Koywe. Not because it was trendy. Because it was necessary. LatAm builds out of urgency. US capital follows when it becomes obvious. YC’s RFS tells you where capital is looking. Your lived experience tells you where the opportunity actually is. Build for the second one. OpenAI has publicly denied any involvement in Robinhood’s new sale of so-called “OpenAI tokens,” which the trading platform claims give EU users exposure to private company equity via blockchain. Robinhood says the tokens are tied to an SPV that owns OpenAI shares — but even that structure doesn’t equate to direct ownership. It's finally out! 🎉 🔎 Today we published our latest research article called "Beyond Reserves: Linking Blockchain Performance to Stablecoin Stability" in collaboration with TRON DAO. 🙌 🔎 Stablecoins are foundational to DeFi, trading, and payments, yet peg reliability remains under scrutiny. Periodic deviations continue to raise questions about the resilience of issuers and the full set of factors underpinning peg maintenance. 💡 Particula’s latest research moves beyond issuer reserves to evaluate how blockchain performance metrics - such as throughput, latency, and finality - relate to peg stability. The study examines eight major networks and focuses on Circle's USD Coin (USDC) and Tether.io's (USDT) over the period January 1, 2022 to July 31, 2025.
