Mitch Frazier shared thisThanks Katherine Coble for the opportunity share more about those who have been so impactful in shaping my life. Special thanks to the leaders who taught me so much and continue to be great teachers and mentors today - LTG Thomas Bostick, PhD, NAE, PE, Scott Dorsey, Nathan Feltman, Gary Reynolds and so many more. #gratefulMitch Frazier shared thisMitch Frazier and I go back a number of years (probably more than either of us would like to admit!) and one of the things I've always admired about him is that he asks great questions. It's a trait that the best leaders have, but one that they also invite in those they lead. In this conversation on In the Loop, we discussed the power of questions, the power of humility, and the best leadership lessons we've learned from our mentors. Mitch shares some of the leadership communication habits he's developed over the years - some of which he learned in his time with Army generals, and others from mentors in tech, and still others in agriculture. It's a powerful conversation that transcends industries and gets to the heart of what matters in leadership - clarity, vision, and connection. Mitch Frazier shared thisOur nation and world changed Sept. 11, 2001, when terrorists executed the largest coordinated terrorist attack on American soil, killing nearly 3,000. Now, a quarter of a century later, the images from that day still ignite intense memories filled with grief, loss and, for many, a sense of duty to act. In this week's Indianapolis Business Journal, I reflect on the spirit of action and patriotism that emerged following one of America's darkest days and revisit the challenge from then-President George W. Bush to all Americans to invest at least two years over their lifetime in service to their neighbors and nation. It's a challenge that remains just as relevant and important today. Mitch Frazier shared thisGrowth is a goal for us all in business and at home. However, growth in our communities is often a source of debate. In this week’s Indianapolis Business Journal, I explore Indiana’s economic momentum and the need to define the kind of growth that builds on strengths, reflects community priorities and positions the state’s economy for long-term success. It’s clear that now is not the time to universally oppose growth, nor is it the time to blindly accept it. It’s time to define it and relentlessly pursue it. Mitch Frazier liked thisMitch Frazier liked thisThis is a pretty important moment for BiomEdit. When we started the company in May 2022, one of the core strategies we committed to was testing whether we could engineer microbes to deliver biologic activity directly where it was needed in an animal. Last week, USDA CVB conditionally licensed the first product to come from that work: Clostridium Perfringens Alpha Toxin and NetB Antibody Fragment, Live Limosilactobacillus Vector — CPerf LLV, which we have referred to throughout development as BE-101. It is our first Programmable Veterinary Biologic™ and, to our knowledge, the first genetically engineered probiotic biologic licensed for use in animals. For BiomEdit, this goes beyond the licensure of an individual product. In getting here, we validated an important part of our platform thesis. We started with a scientific hypothesis, built the engineering, clinical, technical development and manufacturing capabilities around it, worked through a regulatory path with little precedent, and in a little over four years reached conditional licensure. This took an amazing BiomEdit team and a number of partners willing to work through problems that didn’t always have an obvious answer. I’m grateful to our Board and investors, to Diamond Animal Health and our other collaborators, and to the USDA CVB team for their engagement throughout the process. Conditional licensure is just the beginning. BE-101/CPerf LLV is already being evaluated in commercial production systems with major U.S. poultry producers. Those studies will tell us how the product performs at scale and help define the path from an innovative technology to something genuinely useful for producers. Mitch Frazier liked thisAfter over 8.5 years, today is my last day at NEI. I cant describe how grateful I am to have been part of this team for so long. I have always been driven by mission and purpose in my professional life and this organization offered that in spades. Thank you to all of the leaders who guided me along the way - especially John Sampson and Stephane Frijia. Two very different CEOs who both shared a passion for this mission and region, and who both poured into me their guidance and trust. Thank you to the colleagues who made up multiple iterations of this team over the years. You made me better at every stage, and the best part of my job was bragging about how great you all were/are. Thank you to the community and business leaders of this region who endured my endless emails and still invited me into their offices and showed up when we asked. Your investments - monetary, thought leadership, time, and more - are what have made this region so great. For the last 8.5 years I’ve had the privilege of doing work worth doing, and getting to do that alongside dedicated professionals and passionate Hoosiers, committed to making Northeast Indiana a place where people and companies want to be. Thank you all. I look forward to my next chapter!

Mitch Frazier liked thisMitch Frazier liked thisThis weekend was crazy. My friends and I finished our first 50 mile race in Steamboat Springs. 8,500 feet of elevation gain 4 torrential downpours 2 hail storms 14 Hours and 17 mins later it was over. Hands down the hardest thing I’ve ever done. In a very crazy way there is something therapeutic about pushing yourself past your limits. I wanted to quit several times on this journey, but each I had to remind myself it was just a temporary feeling. Take a minute. Breathe. And remind yourself that’s it’s all going to be over soon, and take another step. Grateful for crazy friends and wild adventures.

Mitch Frazier liked this“Our direction is clear: grow and retain talent, grow business and grow Indiana…” — Chuck Goodrich “Indiana is home to great companies, talented people and strong communities who share a passion to build the next chapter of our economy even stronger…” — Mitch Frazier This is a vision and direction I share. There appears to be real momentum around creating opportunities for Hoosier businesses, recognizing and investing in Hoosier talent, and building the next chapter of Indiana’s economy together. What I especially appreciate is seeing this vision reflected across so many levels — from the local maker, artist, Main Street business and creative entrepreneur to economic development leaders and state government. In a time when so many things divide us, economic growth and long-term sustainability can be common ground where we stand together. We want our communities to thrive. We want our local businesses to grow. We want talented people to stay, build, create and invest their futures here. When we collectively recognize that we all have a role to play in building the conditions that make that possible — that’s where the power lives.Governor Braun Appoints Mitch Frazier President of the Indiana Economic Development CorporationGovernor Braun Appoints Mitch Frazier President of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation

Sagamore of the Wabash
Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb
The Sagamore of the Wabash is an award of the U.S. state of Indiana. The term "sagamore" was used by the Algonquian-speaking American Indian to describe a lower chief or a leader among the tribe to whom the true chief would look for advice and wisdom. The Wabash is the "State River" of Indiana and major tributary of the Ohio River. The Sagamore is the highest honor the Governor regularly bestows on individuals.
