It was truly uplifting to hear heartfelt messages from Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, Tina Knowles, Claudia Dixon and Pastors Juanita and Rudy Rasmus, whose longstanding commitment to serving our community continues to make a meaningful difference. Equally proud to see Housing Alliance HTX’s very own President & CEO, Jamie Bryant, share remarks alongside community leaders and partners who helped bring this vision to life. With 31 permanent homes and access to essential support services, this initiative reminds us that housing is about far more than four walls—it’s about dignity, stability, hope, and opportunity. One of the greatest takeaways is recognizing that understanding ourselves is only the beginning. Whether you’re a caregiver, a loved one, or navigating your own health, knowing the ABCs of Parkinson’s can make all the difference. 💙 . . Here’s a quick breakdown: 🫨 A is for Anxiety While Parkinson’s is often associated with movement, non-motor symptoms like anxiety and sleepnessness can be just as challenging. You aren't alone if the "invisible" symptoms feel the most heavy. ⚖️ B is for Balance Maintaining stability is very important. With more than half of those living with Parkinson’s experiencing a fall each year, focusing on prevention and physical therapy makes a world of difference. 🙏 C is for Care Partner This journey isn’t just for the individual diagnosed. Care partners go through their own stages and need dedicated resources and support to stay strong. 🔬 D is for Diagnosis Finding answers can take time. If you are noticing signs of Parkinson’s, it’s important to regularly visit your physician or neurologist, as they use a combination of clinical evaluations and research to reach an accurate diagnosis. Patience and advocacy are key! ⚠️ E is for Early Signs Early detection changes the game. From noticing subtle shifts in the little things such as difference in handwriting, and loss of smell to changes in sleep patterns, knowing these 10 early signs helps you take action sooner. 💪 F is for Fitness Movement is medicine! Research shows that just 2.5 hours of exercise per week can significantly slow the decline in quality of life for those living with Parkinson’s. I'm proud to share that I've taken on a new role at my alma mater, The University of Texas at Dallas, as the Coordinator of Athletic Video and Creative Production! I've been at it for a little over two months now, and its been an incredibly rewarding experience so far. Every day brings new things to learn, challenges to work through, and opportunities to do the kind of work I've dreamt of since I was a kid. Being able to return to a place that played such a meaningful role in my professional development and contribute to the continued growth of UTD Athletics is something I don't take for granted. I'm grateful to be where I am, excited for what's ahead, and looking forward to continuing to learn, create, and tell stories for the Comets! #Whoosh ☄�� P.S. An Investigation of a Virtual School Program in One Public School District in Texas: A Descriptive Case Study

This qualitative, descriptive case study employed the use of narrative to
investigate a virtual school program in a public school district in Texas. A focus group
interviewing process was used to interview the participants. Findings from this study
conclude that with continued support from district leaders, along with having the
appropriate instructional and technological resources, will help a virtual school sustain
itself and prove successful. Other findings from the study…This qualitative, descriptive case study employed the use of narrative to
investigate a virtual school program in a public school district in Texas. A focus group
interviewing process was used to interview the participants. Findings from this study
conclude that with continued support from district leaders, along with having the
appropriate instructional and technological resources, will help a virtual school sustain
itself and prove successful. Other findings from the study conclude that providing
ongoing instructional support to teachers, as well as allowing them opportunities in
shared decision-making strengthens their morale and empowers them to take ownership
of their virtual school program. Furthermore, with these types of support systems in
place, it ultimately benefits students who, for one reason or another, are looking for an
alternative setting in which to accomplish their educational goals. The research presented
in this study provides school district leaders with a blueprint of strategies, ideas and
methods by which to replicate a virtual school program of their own.
