The members that sit on the National Board of Trustees are either nominated and approved by the Governance Committee or appointed by the Committee. Members typically rise through the chairs at the local and then state level before being selected to the National Board of Trustees.

Additionally, the Secretary position is one that the Governance Committee selects and will be the future President after moving from Secretary to President-Elect to President.

Following the original mission "to give back to the community where we work and live," the organization has raised over $450,000 for local charities. Golfing for kids Classic- For the past twenty-four years the 300+ members of the National Association of Insurance & Financial Advisors-Tampa have organized the Golfing for kids classic. Following the original mission "to give back to the community where we work and live," the organization has raised over $450,000 for local charities. The classic's purpose is to raise funds for the Epilepsy Services Foundation which sends up to twenty-five kids with epilepsy to Camp Boggy Creek, a medical-friendly camp co-founded by the late Paul Newman and General Norman Schwarzkopf.
