I’m encouraged to see CMS moving toward outcomes-based payment models. In most areas of life, we don’t pay for effort — we pay for results. You wouldn’t pay your barber just for waving the scissors; you pay for the haircut. Healthcare should work the same way. Too often, especially in mental health, we reimburse for activity rather than improvement. Rewarding outcomes instead of volume is one of the most meaningful ways we can drive better access, higher quality, and real recovery for patients.

If you’re raising for a startup or VC fund – I can share a database of 77 fundraising advisors without retainers (only success fee). 👉 Get free access to the full database of 77 fundraising advisors without retainers by registering to the Virtual VC Conf (also free): VCconf.com/?982&172 👉 Like & comment "𝐈'𝐦 𝐢𝐧" after registration to get chances of winning startup/VC books. @Max Pog has gifted 500+ books at their previous VC Zoom events and will gift more to random commenters There's a common belief in venture: if a founder needs an advisor to fundraise, they can't sell their own story. And if they can't sell to an investor – how will they sell the product to customers? The same logic applies to VC fund managers. LPs often see a placement agent as a negative signal – "What's wrong with this manager?" But look at the reality on both sides: 𝐈𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮'𝐫𝐞 𝐚 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐩 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫: The average fundraise conversion rate is about 5%. You pitch 200 investors to get 10 checks. Most raises take 3-8 months – when you're not building, not talking to customers, not hiring. Every month you spend fundraising is a month your competitor is building. 𝐈𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮'𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐕𝐂 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫: 1,200+ emerging managers compete for LP capital in the US alone. Established managers take 85% of all dollars. The average fundraise stretches to 18-24 months. A good advisor doesn't replace you in the room. They get you into the room faster. Here's what the best fundraising advisors actually do: → Open doors to investors you can't reach through cold outreach → Help structure the round and position the narrative → Build professional data rooms and marketing materials → Shorten your timeline so you can get back to building Marc Andreessen says a warm intro is the first test of a founder. But the real test is results. And if the right advisor helps you close a $10M round 3 months faster – that's a win! Data included: – email, LinkedIn – min/max success fee % – how much was raised in the last 12 months – region focus – 13 client types they work with

In my latest Forbes Op Ed, published on the heals of HLTH, focuses on something gravely missing from the general AI discussions: patients. People are struggling to afford care, navigating a confusing maze of bureaucracy and losing trust in a system that too often leaves them feeling unseen. Instead of adding yet another layer of complexity onto a system that isn’t working, we should be asking how AI can help solve these long-standing problems people tell us about. If it can, I am all for it! Across specialties, we hear physicians worry about missed diagnoses and vanishing human connection, while patients raise red flags about bias, privacy and oversight. These concerns don’t just stem from curiosity, but nervousness and a lack of information. If AI is going to shape the future of healthcare, we have to listen to the values that people say matter most in the exam room: transparency, trust and fairness. Let’s get it right. 🔗👇

For our latest Tip of the Spear interview, we sat down with Nina Williams, Associate Director at Mount Sinai Ventures, whose career sits at the intersection of clinical operations and strategic investing. A few insights that stood out: 〜 Health systems can’t build everything. Founders need a clear answer to a simple question: Why you over an internal build? Integration into existing workflows and a solution that solves an enterprise wide pain point are critical. 〜 Co-investment reduces risk. Strategics move faster when like-minded institutions can help de-risk and validate a solution. 〜 Consumer-driven care is no longer a niche. Patients want autonomy: routing prescriptions, choosing delivery pathways, and improving healthspan (not just increasing lifespan). 〜 Founder readiness matters. Nina looks for grit, consistency, and flexibility. If a solution makes it to Investment Committee, the deal lead has to believe in the workflow just as much as the founder does, because the impact on patients and employees is very real. 〜 Finally, her best piece of career advice. Be authentic with your storytelling, and be proud of your story. Thank you, Nina, for sharing your perspective with the Artemis community! Anthropic just launched Claude for #Healthcare, and OpenAI just launched ChatGPT Health. Both are LLMs, but their strategies differ significantly. I wrote down a few thoughts. 1️⃣ 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐝𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 𝐨𝐟 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 Claude is entering the race with the ambition to integrate AI scribe + AI billing + AI clinical decision support + workflow, in order to become a new intelligence layer on top of legacy systems. It targets payors, providers, and consumers, tapping into (public) databases to optimize clinical operations. Claude also launched Claude for Life Sciences in October 2025, offering tailored solutions for pharma and integrating them into this broader ecosystem. 2️⃣ 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐆𝐏𝐓 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡: 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐞𝐫 / 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲 ChatGPT’s strategy is much narrower, as it focuses primarily on consumers and patients, but with a much deeper offering. It integrates medical navigation, lifestyle, nutrition, and fitness, as well as decision support to help users choose the right care plan (in the US), going after players like Transcarent. 3️⃣ 𝐁𝐨𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐝𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐆𝐏𝐓 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐀𝐈 Both Claude and ChatGPT integrate with Function Health, which uses blood analyses to both detect diseases early and optimize daily health. Consumer AI currently remains a tool for the healthy and wealthy, but over time the system may shift from being doctor-centric to consumer-centric. Claude and ChatGPT are clearly accelerating this shift. 4️⃣ 𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐰𝐢𝐧: 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐝𝐞’𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲 𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐆𝐏𝐓’𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐛𝐞𝐭? Claude is trying to go very big: maybe too big. No one really wants a single player to own such a large and strategic piece of the healthcare tech stack. ChatGPT, on the other hand, aims to become the digital front door of healthcare, similar to Apple or Amazon. In the short term, it may monetize through advertising (as OpenAI has recently launched ads on its models). In the long term, it’s unclear how it will evolve beyond this. It is already replacing “Dr. Google”, but Google itself never managed to build a truly large business around that. 5️⃣ 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐝𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 Claude connects to many different sources, often involving unstructured data. Thanks to LLMs, it does not require highly structured or standardized data to operate effectively. MCPs combined with LLMs are redefining interoperability. Claude can ingest raw, unstructured data from multiple systems and generate usable insights. Traditional IT and SaaS systems were simply not able to do this before. ---- Follow HGM Advisory for daily reposts of the most interesting #HealthTech news.

Yesterday, I shared news that Diadia Health is officially out of beta and live nationally — the first AI platform built for causal reasoning in complex chronic disease. I built this because I know what it's like to have answers that don't add up. Because clinicians deserve tools that keep pace with the real complexity of their patients. Proud to see the work out in the world. In the press today: https://lnkd.in/eYAMYFwU https://lnkd.in/esNMxqsC #diadiahealth #precisionmedicine #clinicalai #healthtech
