Why are California strawberries known as the "Crop of Opportunity?" 🍓 We hosted Jai on a strawberry farm & she found the answer in Mayra's story. A second-generation strawberry farmer, Mayra represents a legacy shared by many California growers. Today, 65% of California strawberry farmers are Mexican American, many of whom began their journey in the fields as farm workers. 🎥 Visit @jaifit8 to watch her full farm story. USDA and CDFA lifted the Mediterranean fruit fly quarantine in Alameda and Santa Clara counties, clearing a significant movement restriction for citrus operations in those areas. Sweet orange scab remains under active quarantine in California, meaning citrus growers in affected counties still face restrictions on moving fruit and plant material. For growers near quarantine boundaries, a single uninspected shipment of citrus, budwood, or nursery stock can trigger compliance action and halt operations. Check with your local county agricultural commissioner to confirm your current quarantine status before your next harvest or nursery delivery. https://lnkd.in/gx7FBvYn

Our California TELONE™ Specialist, Brian Hegland, is in Modesto for the Blue Diamond Growers Annual Meeting. "Blue Diamond Growers is a unique organization that is both a century-old agricultural cooperative and a global consumer packaged goods (CPG) company. The co-op’s vision is to deliver the benefits of almonds to the world by expanding the markets and innovative uses of our growers’ quality almonds around the globe." Almond growers know that nematodes and Prunus replant disease can stunt an orchard from the start—that's why they trust TELONE™ by Teleos to prep the soil ahead of planting/transplanting rootstock. TELONE™ targets nematodes deep in the root zone, allowing growers to manage nematode populations before young trees are planted. In addition to controlling nematodes, TELONE™ helps mitigate the effects of Prunus replant disease by reducing the pest and disease pressure in the soil, so young almond trees establish stronger roots, promoting vigorous growth and long-term orchard health. Stop by booth #14 with all of your nematode questions. Remember, there's no coming back from a poor start—especially with orchards!
