Tripp Jones shared thisVery excited to announce Uncork Capital’s investment in Epsilon Health, which is coming out of stealth with $27.6 million in funding, led by AlleyCorp, alongside Renegade Partners, SemperVirens VC, and Jack Altman. Radiology is facing a serious capacity crisis. Demand for imaging keeps rising and there aren’t enough radiologists to keep up. Patients are waiting days for results that take minutes to interpret. Naturally, the industry has responded with over 1,000 AI tools for radiology. But that doesn’t seem to be fixing the problem (wait times are actually longer than a decade ago!). Rustin Rassoli and the Epsilon team have taken a radically different approach: instead of building another tool for radiologists, they’re building an AI-native radiology practice from the ground up. They’re basically building what I call an Iron Man suit for radiologists. Epsilon makes each radiologist dramatically more capable without asking them to learn another tool or change the way they work. They’re already processing 2,500+ studies a day and are on track to interpret 1% of all U.S. x-rays in their first year. Incredibly proud of the entire team and what they’re building. More on what they’re building and why we invested: https://lnkd.in/g9GKx2YrInvesting in Epsilon Health: A New Model for Radiology - Uncork CapitalInvesting in Epsilon Health: A New Model for Radiology - Uncork Capital

Tripp Jones shared thisAbraham Thomas is probably the smartest, wonkiest person I know in all things financial data. He founded Quandl, the original alternative financial data marketplace and deeply understands the value and importance of all things data. Normally, he writes about the esoteric. Today, he wrote a fascinating piece for us more "main street" financial data users on how we should think about data in the AI era. Check it out!Tripp Jones shared thisNew essay alert! Some industries are okay with 95% accuracy. Finance isn't one of them! Errors in finance have real consequences: P&L, reputation, liabilities, inefficiency, penalties. This is a big reason why finance doesn't use AI as much as other fields. But this is fixable! You don't need deep technical chops or a large engineering team; all you need is attention to a handful of best practices. The results are dramatic. I wrote a new essay about these best practices. It's direct, example-filled and designed for non-technical and semi-technical finance professionals. And like all my essays, it's totally free. Check it out! (link in comments) I hope you find it useful - and if you do, please like, comment and share!

Tripp Jones reposted thisTripp Jones reposted thisI’m excited to welcome Isha Mehrotra and Nichatorn (Belle) Tangkuptanon as our newest Associates at Uncork Capital 🎉 Associates are one of the most important and underappreciated roles in venture. They're often the first people a founder meets, and they're out in the market every day finding what's next. A great associate makes everyone around them better, and raises the bar for the entire team. In Isha and Belle, we found two thoughtful, strategic investors who know the startup world from both sides of the table. Both have operated and invested in the kinds of companies we back, and have already hit the ground running with an incredible impact. More on each of them here: https://lnkd.in/g8WgHWcV

Tripp Jones reposted thisTripp Jones reposted thisExcited to join the investment team at Uncork Capital! From my very first conversation with the team, I was struck by the optimism and warmth, and how everyone naturally brings together different stories and perspectives. Uncork has backed founders from the earliest stages, investing in nearly 300 companies, including Fitbit, SendGrid, Poshmark, LaunchDarkly, Tailscale, GPTZero, Groq, Numeral, Ivo, and Loft Orbital. As an operator, I’ve worked closely with founders and AI research teams as they built products from the ground up. That's exactly why I'm energized to partner with deeply technical teams while the company, product, and market are still taking shape. We are sector agnostic, and I’m particularly drawn to AI infra, developer tools, and frontier tech that unlock products that couldn't exist before. Founders, builders, and operators, I’d love to hear what you’re working on! As a harpist, I’d also love to collaborate with creatives on unique events at the intersection of technology and the arts. Grateful to everyone who has supported me along the way. 🥂 Here’s to uncorking the next chapter with an incredible team: Susan Liu, Amy Saper, Andy McLoughlin, Jeff Clavier, Tripp Jones, Isha Mehrotra, Adriana Roche, Tilly McLain, Jess J., Catie Young, Ashley Cravens, Joyce Lee, Ilan C., and Whit (Whitney) Bouck!

Tripp Jones shared thisI’m so pumped to see Ed Silva take the helm at DubClub. He’s an industry pro and a product beast and it’s going to be fun to watch him build. Huge kudos to DubClub’s founders, Lewis Burik, Andrew Daschbach, and Ryan Gaertner, for persuading Ed to joint the team (and for inventing the category in the first place). Can’t wait to watch them all win more together.Tripp Jones shared thisToday I’m thrilled to share that I’ve joined DubClub as CEO. From my very first conversations with Lewis Burik and Andrew Daschbach in 2023, I could feel the momentum they had created. They’ve spent the last several years building an incredible company, earning the trust of thousands of handicappers and the fans who follow them. What convinced me to join is the opportunity ahead. I believe we’re just scratching the surface of what’s possible at DubClub. Together, we’re going to build the product that every sports bettor opens before placing a bet; helping fans discover incredible cappers, make smarter decisions, and win more together. I’m incredibly grateful to Lew and Dash for the opportunity to lead this next chapter, and to our investors for their continued confidence and support as we announced our latest financing today. https://lnkd.in/gBhJFfpP We’re just getting started. 🚀DubClub Appoints DraftKings Veteran Ed Silva as CEODubClub Appoints DraftKings Veteran Ed Silva as CEO

Tripp Jones shared thisI'm so proud of Edward Tian and Alex Cui, the Founders of GPTZero. Three years ago I met Edward in his dorm room at Princeton and asked him what would he build if I gave him a million dollars to seed his company. Today, they announced that they are being acquired by Superhuman for quite a bit more than that. A great outcome aside, GPTZero has been such a fun ride. Building an amazing team is fun. Building a market leading product is fun. Growing so fast that it feels like the walls are shaking is so fun. And it's all because Edward and Alex made it happen - did I mention that I'm proud of them? I'm a little melancholy because my chapter with GPTZero is ending, but I'm so excited to see what Edward, Alex, and the entire team can do next. It's going to be fun to watch. I'm very grateful for my amazing co-investors, Nikhil Basu Trivedi at Footwork, Ali Partovi at Neo, James Kim at Reach Capital, and Jack Altman. Huge thanks to Jonathan White for making everything work. Special thanks to Ayushi Sinha for giving me Edward's phone number in the first place, which was the little thing that led to a really fun three years. https://lnkd.in/gA9dZ_WrA Princeton grad built a $30 million AI detection business. Tripp Jones shared thisThere's been a lot of hand-wringing about the tremendous electricity needs of AI data centers. Soma Energy's Co-founder and CTO, Mario Souto, lays out a thoughtful and nuanced case for the increasing importance of the orchestration layer between energy and AI compute. I spend a lot of time thinking about and investing in this category and this is the clearest explanation and solution that I've read for an incredibly complex problem. Great read! https://lnkd.in/gHKe-dst

It's so exciting to see it all come to life. The direct booking era is here, and it's powered by Wander.

Tripp Jones reacted on thisTripp Jones reacted on thisMore than 60% of last year's attending GPs found at least one LP at MaxAllocation. With that in mind, we hosted the second edition of MaxAllocation - because in venture, as in life, everything starts with a relationship. So once again, we brought leading GPs and LPs from Europe, the US and Asia into one room. Same principles as always: quality first, no noise, capped at 100 people, with 55%+ LPs so it never turns into a hunting game. Give the right people the time and space to get to know each other, and capital follows. Let's see if we can beat last year 🤞

Tripp Jones liked thisTripp Jones liked thisOlivia June Williams and I are expecting a baby girl in a couple of weeks. She’ll be our third child. I’m grateful. I’m also thinking about how to support Olivia, care for our kids, and look after myself through those first months. Nutrition is part of that preparation. And I think the conversation about nutrition and stress needs more specifics. Which nutrients? How much? What should we avoid? I’d start with regular meals and hydration. Keep easy combinations available: eggs with whole-grain toast, yogurt with fruit and nuts, or tofu with rice and vegetables. Make eating well require fewer decisions. Then pay attention to these nutrients: - Magnesium. It’s a cofactor in more than 300 enzyme systems, including those involved in energy production and nerve function. I'm biased, but I LOVE PYM Mood Magnesium for daily source. Also, pumpkin seeds, beans, and leafy greens are useful sources. On supplement labels, check elemental magnesium, not the compound’s total weight. The adult upper limit is 350 mg/day from supplements and medicines, excluding food. Higher doses need clinical supervision. - Omega-3s, specifically EPA and DHA. PYM makes this too. DHA is a structural component of brain-cell membranes. Salmon, sardines, and trout provide both. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, FDA guidance is 8–12 ounces of lower-mercury fish weekly. - Choline. Your body needs it to make acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter involved in memory and muscle control. Adequate intake is 450 mg/day during pregnancy and 550 mg/day while breastfeeding, counting food and supplements together. One large egg provides about 147 mg. What I’d avoid: - Replacing meals with caffeine. Count milligrams, not cups. During pregnancy, stay under 200 mg/day. For breastfeeding, ACOG describes 200 mg/day as moderate and suggests less with newborns or preterm infants. - Assuming “natural” means appropriate for everyone. Avoid ashwagandha during pregnancy and breastfeeding. LactMed advises avoiding L-theanine supplements while nursing a newborn or premature infant because safety information is lacking. Review supplements with your clinician, including products from PYM. - Treating persistent anxiety or low mood with nutrition alone. Those symptoms deserve professional support. Meeting nutrient needs is not the same as treating postpartum depression. As a cofounder of PYM, I care about the ingredient, the dose, and who the evidence applies to.

Tripp Jones liked thisEvery day brings a significant effort to keep California's great economy running and powered up. On September 9th, that effort faced one of the highest demand days in the state's history…and the system of energy resources California has built performed perfectly. Clean energy has moved from promise to proof. Solar, wind, and battery storage are already part of a reliable grid today, and flexible gas capacity helps carry the system when it's needed most. This combination of resources work at scale and did that day. During this month’s hour of highest demand, Clearway’s California fleet served nearly 10% of the entire CAISO grid. More than a good day for Clearway's fleet, it's proof of what a diversified, flexible, and well-run portfolio of power plants is built to do — when the stakes are highest. We are proud of our operations team for the work behind these numbers. And I'm grateful, as we all should be, to the women and men at CAISO who carry that same responsibility, every day, for more than 30 million Californians. Thanks to California's energy policy leadership, the grid made it through this September heat wave with no shortages. The next challenge will be ensuring that we can keep up with demand growth, including keeping existing resources online and building new ones at the pace that's needed.Tripp Jones liked thisCalifornia's grid faced one of its highest-demand days on record earlier this month, as a heat wave pushed CAISO system demand past 50,000 megawatts on September 9 – approaching the state's all-time peak without a single Flex Alert or emergency conservation call. Clearway's California fleet was part of the resource mix that met the moment. Our solar, wind, battery storage, and gas assets worked in sequence throughout the day: solar carrying the midday load, gas ramping up to provide flexible capacity into the evening, batteries discharging as solar tapered off, and wind holding output overnight before building back through the evening hours. During the hour of the day with the highest demand, our fleet served almost 10% of demand across the entire CAISO grid – a reminder that reliability isn't one resource carrying the day, but a diversified fleet showing up together when it's needed most. We're also grateful to the team at California ISO – the people working around the clock to balance supply and demand and keep the power on for more than 30 million Californians, especially on days like this one. In the coming years, California will need all of these resources and more to keep up with growing demand – and we’re building more projects to meet that need. We’re proud to be in the business of helping keep the lights on – and the A/C running – every day of the year, including when it’s needed most.

Tripp Jones liked thisTripp Jones liked thisNorth Beach's Italian Athletic Club played host to a shining example of Ignatian values at the St. Ignatius Emergency Responders Dinner. More than 220 guests packed the ballroom, many of them active or retired emergency responders, to celebrate the service and sacrifice of SI alumni and their families who answer the call through law enforcement, firefighting, and emergency medical care. Mayor Daniel Lurie greeted guests at the front door as they arrived, and Supervisor Alan Wong came to thank our alumni for their service. The night was full of ovations, laughter, and tears as SFFD Battalion Chief Matt Alba '95 and SFPD Officer Kevin Downs '09 received the Spiritus Magis Awards. We also celebrated SFFD Chief Dean Crispen '87 and SFPD Chief Derrick Lew '91, both appointed by Mayor Lurie in 2025. The City, its fire and police departments, and St. Ignatius were all founded in the same era, and this is the first time in history that both chiefs are SI alumni. St. Ignatius takes great pride in knowing that the Jesuit values taught at our school are carried forward by the men and women who stand watch over our City. We Are 👏 👏 SI!!

Tripp Jones liked thisTripp Jones liked thisToday is my last day as a member of the incredible team at Next Frontier Capital. It's a bittersweet moment. For almost nine years, I've had the privilege of helping build the firm and its brand, and I'm proud of everything we accomplished together. I'm officially moving into an Operating Partner role and will keep working with and supporting a few of our select portfolio companies in the coming months. I'm grateful for the firm's support. In this next chapter I plan to focus more on my longstanding interest in defense and national security. Most importantly, today, I want to say THANK YOU. To our LPs: Without your trust and commitment - none of this would have been possible. As I reflect on the opportunity you gave me, know that I woke up everyday with a fire in my belly to work for you and earn your commitment to our firm. To the visionary NFC founders and Managing Partners: Will Price and Richard Harjes: thank you for giving me the chance and believing in me in the fall of 2017 when the firm was 100% Montana, $20M in AUM, and only 10 investments in… Look at the incredible portfolio and brand we built together and look at what we have become! I will always cherish the daily opportunity to earn it, with both of you, everyday. To my Bozeman office buddy, Scott Holton: you are one of my absolute favorite colleagues of all time. Thank you for the friendship, partnership, laughs, perspective, and so many memorable moments along the way. I’m incredibly grateful our paths crossed. To my remote office besties, Kirsten Suddath, Erika Nash, Franz Kofler, and Mandy Culver: thank you for being extraordinary partners, teammates, and friends. Building a firm is never just about investments; it is about shared conviction, hard work, trust, and the people who show up for one another along the way. I’m deeply grateful for everything we worked on together - the rewarding, the challenging, the awesome. There was lots of "awesome" along the way… because of each of you. To the founders, leadership teams, fellow investors, and board members with whom I have had the privilege to work: partnering with you as you build and scale your businesses has been one of the most rewarding parts of my career. I’ve genuinely valued the opportunity to work together through both challenges and inflection points, whether navigating tough tough decisions or celebrating meaningful wins. The trust that you place in your investment partners is never taken lightly, and I’m grateful to have been a tiny part of each of your journeys. And if you made it this far, you might be wondering…what specifically is next for you, Les? Stay tuned tomorrow: It’s time to ride 🐎

Institutions don’t fail all at once. They fail when design can’t keep up with change. In Davos this week, I’ll be joining the inaugural gathering of the Institutional Research Network, a new initiative convened by The Digital Economist. The focus is not another set of conversations but the patient work of connecting research, markets, and governance so ideas can take institutional form and hold under real-world pressure. Some initiatives are about visibility. This one is about durability. #Davos2026 #InstitutionalDesign #IRN #TheDigitalEconomist

At Bread and Butter Ventures, we're in our 7th year of investing in digital health. I've been hearing a lot of feedback lately from both funds and founders alike that VC funding for tech-enabled care delivery is fewer and far between these days. I'm super bullish on tech-enabled care as a component of a digital health portfolio because I believe that true, lasting innovation will be driven by bottoms-up early stage innovation responding to top-down industry pain points, and that to innovate we must have distribution through the incumbent plumbing of the healthcare system - and that includes care at the center. Yes, the margins are lower than pure software, but the distribution network of healthcare is very different than pure B2B. We're super interested right now in: ✅ Applications of AI to in infrastructure and operations of health care systems, provider networks, health plans to reduce manual work and enable everyone to operate at their best and highest use ✅ Applications of AI to clinical decision support and ultimately care delivery ✅ Solutions that address population health and help with access to care in both rural and urban settings (both from a care & cost perpspective), cardiometabolic health, women's health (still wildly uninvested opportunities to serve half the population), eldercare ✅ Insurtech, fintech and the payments layer of healthcare We would love to connect with more co-investors at all stages (pre-seed, seed, later stage) who are actively investing in digital health and specifically at tech-enabled care solutions to drive the next generation of healthcare innovation. Please DM us or tag a firm/investor here!

Can fundraising teams detect a stalled process before silence becomes the strategy? The forwardable lesson is that long sales cycles need an early-warning layer, not simply more activity at the top of the funnel. The system is designed to recommend action, not merely record that progress slowed. The Long Cycle RAISE combines mandate scoring, allocation signals, trigger detection and pipeline intelligence to surface issues earlier. The Warning Layer The workflow can track investor stage, relationship activity, soft commitments, hard commitments and risks around the target process. The Waiting Problem The company is addressing a process that managers already understand and repeatedly need to solve. RAISE is raising capital and looking for investors. See company website https://raiseplatform.eu and then DM me for more info. Is faster feedback more valuable than faster outreach in institutional fundraising?
