“Valerie was hired into the newly created role of Strategic Sourcing Manager for Ingredients at Rodan + Fields. As with any new role, it was a very large and detailed project without clear definition. Valerie was able to break it down into manageable pieces by creating a formula database so that ingredients could be sorted by supplier, distributor and end user. Once completed, she then used this information to better negotiate pricing and rebates. In many cases, the ingredients were completely new to her. Valerie knew when to ask clarifying questions and once she gained knowledge, she started to recommend ingredient supplier swaps to leverage her buying scale.”
