The Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) will serve as the club’s senior commercial leader, with a primary responsibility of driving corporate partnership revenue. This role will lead all sponsorship sales, partnership strategy, and activation efforts, while overseeing supporting revenue streams such as ticketing and merchandising.
The ideal candidate is a proven seller and relationship-builder who can secure high-value partnerships, create compelling brand assets, and position the club as a premier marketing platform for businesses.
Key Responsibilities
Corporate Partnerships (Primary Focus)
Lead all aspects of sponsorship sales and partnership development, with direct accountability for revenue targets
Prospect, pitch, and close new corporate partners across local, regional, and national markets
Develop premium partnership assets (jersey sponsorships, stadium naming rights, training kit, digital/media inventory, community programs)
Build customized, ROI-driven proposals aligned with partner objectives
Maintain and grow relationships with existing partners to drive renewals and upsells
Oversee partnership activation to ensure delivery, retention, and long-term value
Commercial Strategy
Create and execute a partnership-first revenue strategy aligned with club growth goals
Identify new inventory and monetization opportunities across digital, content, and fan engagement platforms
Collaborate with marketing to package and promote commercial assets effectively
Ticketing & Matchday (Supporting Role)
Oversee ticketing leadership to align attendance growth with partnership value
Support premium hospitality and group sales offerings tied to sponsors
Enhance matchday experience to strengthen sponsor visibility and engagement
Brand & Marketing Alignment
Partner closely with marketing to ensure sponsor integration across campaigns, content, and community initiatives
Leverage storytelling, media, and player assets to increase sponsorship appeal
Leadership & Culture
Build and lead a high-performance partnerships sales team
Establish sales processes, pipelines, and accountability structures
Foster a proactive, revenue-driven culture across the organization
Qualifications
7–10+ years of experience in sponsorship sales, corporate partnerships, or B2B sales (sports experience strongly preferred)
Demonstrated success closing six- and seven-figure deals
Strong network of corporate decision-makers (local and/or national)
Exceptional presentation, negotiation, and relationship management skills
Experience creating integrated marketing partnerships and branded assets
Self-starter with an entrepreneurial, “hunter” mentality
