Position Summary
The Project/Capstone Exercise Lead oversees high-quality training at Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) Joint Military Attache School (JMAS). The Lead shall supervise contractor personnel to ensure quality performance and contract compliance, and ensure a safe and fair work environment.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day management of all personnel on the task. Act as a conduit between the off-site program manager and the government.
Serve as both the Project Lead and as the Capstone Exercise Lead and as an instructor for lesson blocks associated with the exercise. Be responsible for direct coordination with outside agencies, synchronize scheduling of meetings/trainings/briefings, maintain current contact information for all points of contact and agencies supporting the capstone exercise, keeping them updated and readily available on the shared electronic filing system.
As a member of the Education and Training Support Team, oversee development and publication of the schedule for full-cycle support to the Attaché Training Program (ATP) capstone exercise to include Advance Team operations, Training Week for support personnel and Exercise Week execution. Liaise with ATP Program Manager regarding personnel assignments and proposed changes.
The Lead shall ensure contractor personnel provided under this contract are clearly aware of the communications chain for all issues, including those related to work hours, approved leave, and/or any other personnel issues.
The Lead shall immediately bring performance issues to the attention of the contractor employee when required, and bring any uncorrected or uncorrectable contractor performance issues to the COR to ensure compliance with assigned tasks.
Actively support ongoing JMAS accreditation activities through participation on assigned accreditation committees and/or working groups and attendance at JMAS curriculum reviews; understand and support accreditation efforts by Council on Occupational Education (COE), International Association of Continuing Education and Training (IACET), American Council on Education, and potentially others deemed critical by the JMAS Board of Governors
Qualifications, Knowledge And Skill Required
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
One complete and successful tour as an Attache, Defense Liaison Officer, Assistant Defense Attache, Operations Coordinator (OPSCO), or Operations Coordinator NCO.
Minimum ten (10) years of experience in the Department of War environment.
Two years experience as a JMAS instructor.
Demonstrated experience in an educational or training context with an emphasis on adult learning.
Highly Desired Qualifications, Knowledge And Skills
Prior experience working with Foreign Affairs agencies (e.g., Department of State, USAID, and Intelligence agencies).
Specific knowledge of embassy operations overseas, understanding of a global workforce, and cross-cultural understanding living and/or working outside of the United States.
Physical And Environmental Requirements
May be required to use computer screen for extensive periods of time.
Extended working hours and travel may be necessary.
