Strategic Program Manager

Location: Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid Flexible – 2x a week)

Assignment Duration: 6 month W2 Assignment (possible extensions / conversion)

Pay Rate: $100-105/HR

Work Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Description:

The Strategic Program/Project Manager reports directly to the Enterprise Program Management Office (EPMO) and serves as an execution partner to senior leadership for large-scale, high-visibility initiatives. This role is responsible for translating strategic direction into structured execution across complex, cross-functional programs while maintaining strong governance, financial oversight, and executive-level communication.

This position operates independently of operational reporting structures but collaborates closely with executive leadership, clinical teams, IT, finance, and external vendors to ensure successful delivery of strategic initiatives. The role supports enterprise IT programs, system integrations, infrastructure investments, and broader transformation efforts.


Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead day-to-day execution of complex, multi-workstream strategic programs sponsored at the executive or board level
  • Translate executive strategy, decisions, and priorities into integrated project plans, timelines, milestones, and deliverables
  • Establish and manage program governance, including risks, issues, dependencies, and escalation paths
  • Prepare executive-ready status reports, dashboards, KPIs, and briefing materials for senior leadership and boards
  • Manage program financials, including ROMs, budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis
  • Oversee third-party vendors and system integrators to ensure adherence to scope, schedule, and quality expectations
  • Drive cross-functional alignment across IT, clinical, operational, and finance stakeholders
  • Support change management, organizational readiness, and adoption activities tied to transformation initiatives


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience within healthcare systems, academic medical centers, or other regulated environments
  • Strong understanding of EPMO frameworks, governance models, and KPI-driven reporting
  • Experience supporting M&A integration, enterprise system implementations, or large-scale transformation efforts
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently, manage ambiguity, and deliver results in fast-paced, high-change environments
