Unique user needs
- Unlike many other types of design, designing for virtual reality requires that you understand that your user is actually in two environments at once. Let me explain. When a person is in a VR headset, their experience can feel so realistic that they become fully immersed in their virtual environment. However, at that same moment, they're also physically interacting in the real world, but often completely unaware of it. This presents a very unique set of user needs that require designers to consider both the user's digital and physical experience. Let's talk through some of these unique user needs. If you've ever studied psychology, you may be familiar with Maslow's Motivational Hierarchy of human needs. In this framework, Maslow explains that we need to meet our foundational needs before we can be motivated to obtain our goals in any other areas of life.
