In this lesson, I am going to tell you about the way how configuration is provided in Kubernetes. In order to understand how it works in Kubernetes, you should understand how it works on your own computer. So if you have an application that runs on your own computer, it is simple. It connects to a configuration file that exists on your own computer. It's just a file in some directory and nothing difficult about it. But now, what is happening if your application is running in cloud? A container-based application should not contain its configuration, so the configuration should be somewhere external. Now in cloud, we always have a couple of servers. Because you know, cloud is just using somebody else's servers. And what are we going to do with this configuration? Is it an option to store it on every single server? Well, no, because in cloud we want to have decoupling. So what are we going to do?
