From the way the game renders an entire world that you can explore from one end to the next without a single loading screen, to animation that literally trounces anything ever seen in any videogame, to game design that keeps things interesting despite being what some would call “just a fetch quest,” this is a perfect example of the next generation in videogames.
Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy is a true gem and an unforgettable part of my gaming journey—one of the first games I ever played, and one that still holds a special place in my heart. This game was ahead of its time, delivering a seamless open world with no loading screens, vibrant visuals, and incredibly smooth platforming. The level design is clever and fun to explore, filled with secrets, collectibles, and creative challenges that never feel **** is a solid silent protagonist, but it’s Daxter who steals the show with his nonstop humor and personality. The dynamic between them adds a layer of charm that carries throughout the whole **** game strikes the perfect balance between exploration, action, and puzzle-solving, making it feel timeless even today. Its colorful world, catchy music, and addictive gameplay make it not just a classic—but a deeply nostalgic experience for those who grew up with **** and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy is a PS2-era masterpiece that helped define 3D platformers.10/10
This charming plattaform was definetly ahead of it's time. An interconnected world, no loading screens, 60 fps for a ps2 game, enjoyable and diverse movesetthatkeeps the flow going. Maybe the story is more on the simplistic side and the level themselves are not that creative and even with it's flaws, this game is nothing but charming and techanlly impressive to this day, this hasn't aged a day in my opinion. 10/10
If you love this type of game, if you enjoy being taken into a world that lasts very long, is fun and is not frustrating to play, then this is a must have for your collection.
This world is giant: get really high up in the air and you can see most of the videogame. That’s an incredible feat, something I don’t think I would have imagined feasible on the Playstation 2.
It is Daxter who gives the game its flavor—more so than the relatively anonymous Jak. This flavor is ultimately what sets Jak And Daxter apart from a lot of the other platform games out there.
I don't remember much about this game, i mainly remember the characters being annoying and i never liked the graphic style of it, but i'll probably replay it soon cause it's been so long since i've played it. I will update or delete this review after i replay it though. But just off how i felt about it the first time, i'm giviing this a 4/10.
This is one of the most anonymous game i've ever played.
Sure, Daxter is a great character but, my god, JAK is the most anonymous character in the world. Even the game itself isn't anything so wonderful. It's a nice platform (but far awaaaaaaaaaaaaay from the masterpiece Crash Bandicoot trilogy) and really annoying. Probably this is, for me, the worst game ever made by Naughty Dog. What a waste...
SummaryJak and Daxter are quite a comic duo! Jak's the strong, silent type of hero, while Daxter's the obnoxious comic nut! The adventure takes place across a massive piece of continuous coastline - you can explore freely, with no loading screens and no waiting time. All characters and environmental elements exist in real time and have incredi...
