Texas Rangers’ Historian and former EVP of Public Affairs, John Blake, is offering a special pregame history tour celebrating the 1996 AL West Championship team on Friday, August 21st!
Following a luncheon honoring the team, John will lead guests on a tour through Rangers history, highlighting key moments and players from the 1996 team. This 90-minute tour will begin at Globe Life Field before guests go to Choctaw Stadium (formerly The Ballpark in Arlington) to walk through history. While at Choctaw Stadium, guests will tour the Broadcast/Press Box, get a chance to stand on the field that once hosted some of the Rangers’ most memorable moments, view the Owner’s Bunker, and visit the home clubhouse, formerly used by the Texas Rangers.
Guests will then return to Globe Life Field to watch Rangers’ batting practice & on-field warm ups before the Rangers take on AL West division opponent the Los Angeles Angels.
All guests are required to have separate game tickets to the Rangers’ game. Tour does require walking to Choctaw Stadium. Most areas inside Choctaw Stadium are climate-controlled, but the field and concourses are open-air, so please plan accordingly for the weather.
