Aerosmith lead singer Steven Tyler has declared that he was sober when he suffered a serious fall in the shower which forced the band to cancel a show in Paraguay.
The frontman broke two of his teeth and and received stitches to his face following the accident at the Bourbon Hotel in Asuncion, in Paraguay on Tuesday (October 25). The band were due to a play a concert in the area but it was postponed until the following day.
Tyler told NBC’s Todayshow that he passed out and he was suffering from a stomach illness. He said:
I passed out. I was in the shower and I got nauseous, and I started to get sick and I fell on my face. I just passed out.
The singer, who sent the above picture to the programme, added that he woke up with water splashing on him wondering “where the hell I was”. Tyler also denied that he was drunk or under the influence of any illegal substances. “I get that people think that,” he added. “But no that’s not the issue.”
Two years ago Aerosmith had to cancel a series of remaining dates on their North Amercian tour when Tyler broke his shoulder after falling off the stage.
