The Outdated Trend Sarah Huckabee Sanders Was Caught Wearing
Even if you weren't paying much attention during Trump's first round in the White House, it's hard not to recognize Sarah Huckabee Sanders. From 2017 to 2019, her face was impossible to avoid as she took the reins of the White House Press Secretary position after Sean Spicer left to move on to bigger and better things, like the 28th season of "Dancing with the Stars." Spicer, although managing to stay on the show for a whopping eight weeks, didn't win.
As the 31st White House Press Secretary, Sanders made a name for herself for being rude and curt, as well as propagating the conspiracy of what the Republicans still call "fake news," all while defending the president every step of the way. However, it's not just her trust in Trump that makes Sanders and her beliefs questionable; her fashion choices also reflect a woman who's living in her own alternate reality. Similar to Trump's current Press Secretary, Karoline Leavitt and her never-ending outfits that miss the mark, Sanders, too, is clueless when it comes to style and current trends — so much so that the 47th governor of Arkansas has been trying to bring back color blocking with one heck of a horrendous dress that's half red and half pink. Why? Well, simply Sanders is a walking fashion fail.
Not just once, but twice did Sanders try to make color blocking happen
While you can't blame anyone for trying to be a fashion icon, it's just not in the cards for Sarah Huckabee Sanders. She has never — even when she was in front of the cameras all the time during Trump 1.0 — worn anything that would be considered even remotely attractive or in style. After all, we're talking about a woman who dug her claws into the leather look and hung on for dear life for far too long. So, naturally, this dress is 100% par for the course for Sanders. But what's more confusing about this horrific get-up is that she wore it twice in a matter of two months.
Arkansas is the place where children once barred from the schoolhouse are now memorialized in bronze at the statehouse, and it was my honor today to officially open the Governor's Mansion for the first time since taking office to celebrate #MLKDay pic.twitter.com/6FAd89Rbjz

After an event at the Governor's Mansion on January 16, 2023, Huckabee showed up in the same dress at the Capitol on March 31, 2023 to declare a State of Emergency following severe weather in Arkansas. Apparently, she thinks it's a good look for her, despite it being anything but. If the color blocking aspect of the dress wasn't enough to make one cry or cringe, the pleats and billowy sleeves just take it to a whole new level: It's not simply a fashion faux pas, but a national disgrace.
While Sanders hasn't been photographed in the dress since 2023, we probably haven't seen the last of it. It wasn't in style back in 2023, and it certainly won't be trending in 2025 either. But, as Sanders' bravado has shown us over the years, when you have that much hubris and delusion in your back pocket, you can convince yourself you look hot in anything.
