Alpha Magazines (stylized ALPHA) is an American lifestyle and entertainment publication focused on celebrity interviews, fashion, culture, and personal empowerment. Founded in 2019 by entertainment executive Luciano Layne, the magazine features long-form interviews, photo editorials, and digital-first coverage of music, film, and entrepreneurship.[1]
History
[edit]Alpha Magazines launched in 2019 as a quarterly lifestyle publication centered on “men’s and women’s empowerment,” combining fashion, art, and culture content. Their first magazine prior to launch was in 2017.[1] Alpha’s major distribution deal to send to news stands was 2020, In 2021, the magazine held release events in New York City as part of its expansion into broader celebrity and culture coverage.[2]
In May 2025, fashion entrepreneur Teresa Caldwell was appointed President of Marketing for Alpha Magazines.[3][4]
Deborah Cox affiliation
[edit]In 2020, Canadian recording artist and actress Deborah Cox joined Alpha Magazines as an Executive Director, working alongside founder Luciano Layne to expand the publication’s focus on empowerment and diversity in entertainment media.[5] Cox's involvement with the magazine included curating music-focused content and representing the brand at high-profile industry events.
In a feature published by OutClique Magazine, Layne described Cox’s appointment as a pivotal moment for Alpha, emphasizing her leadership in promoting inclusivity and women’s empowerment within the entertainment industry.[6] Cox herself publicly promoted the launch of Alpha Female Magazine through her verified Twitter account in early 2020, signaling an expansion of the Alpha brand to include women-led editorial editions.[7]
She later appeared in a video interview produced by the magazine, Executive Director Deborah Cox Talks with Garcelle Beauvais, where she discussed her vision for the Alpha brand and its mission to “bridge fashion, music, and social change.”[8]
Editorial profile
[edit]Alpha Magazines publishes celebrity and influencer interviews, photo essays, and editorial spreads across entertainment, fashion, and culture. Regular features include Alpha Men and Alpha Women profiles, “Behind the Lens” visual stories, and periodic special editions.[1]
Expansion and partnerships
[edit]In 2025, Layne announced a partnership between Alpha Magazines’ entertainment arm and Virgin Music Group/ Universal Music Group to support artist development through the affiliated label Alpha Recording Group.[9]
Several recording artists have been associated with the Alpha Recording Group, music arm of Alpha Magazines, established under Luciano Layne’s leadership following the 2025 distribution partnership with Virgin Music Group and Universal Music Group.[10]

Additional independent releases under the Alpha Music Group label include "Paradise (Weakness)" by Brother 2 Brother featuring Gabby Jane, reflecting the label’s commitment to emerging and crossover talent across pop, R&B, and soul genres.[13]
In April 2025, rapper Cassidy released the single "I Ain't See Nothin'," credited to ALPHA Recording Group LLC across major platforms, including Apple Music, Amazon Music, iHeartRadio, and YouTube’s auto-generated release.[14][15][16][17]
