Re;DFFOO assist[]

"I'm sorry, Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that". Not without some resource help. The trouble with these dead games is that archives are pretty scarce. If I knew where a repository of all the weapons and armor from the game in question was, I'd be more than happy to have a look. My focus right now is trying to keep EC updated, although there are another couple of guys jumping in there. Further, global is about to lose WOTV, so that's going to take some effort, even if we can get enough interest in it. Curse this economy and our "picky eaters"! We had two or three other folks working on DFFOO before the force era kicked in, and then it vanished.

would love to help, just need to find the right toolbox. Good luck. --Swordzmanp236 (talk) 20:58, 4 April 2025 (UTC)

CP mechanics[]

if you were going to do anything regarding DFFOO armor and weapons, here's the situation:

  • Each character began with 42 CP unequipped (40 base + 1 each for bare weapons and armor).
  • The character would add to the base with each NEW weapon and armor. Each LB would raise that value by a small amount.
  • Crystal Strength and Training Boards also added to the base value when specific nodes were activated. The max for one character would then be anywhere between 600 and 950 CP depending upon who got what tier of items. Meaning: BURST+ + High Armor + training would put a unit off the charts.
  • The resulting abilities extracted would use anywhere from 2 to 20 CP unless the item was already equipped, the exception being LD abilities costing zero.

Good luck, boss. --Swordzmanp236 (talk) 04:43, 5 April 2025 (UTC)

Right. You're going to need to say the weapon/armor gives between x and y CP, and that the extracted ability costs z CP. --Swordzmanp236 (talk) 05:02, 5 April 2025 (UTC)
No worries. The article on command points pretty much spells that out. The point tables are all there, at least. Mierna was doing this pretty regular until the game fell off in Year 6. There was one other guy, but he doesn't seem to be around much. Dammit, Jim, I'm a writer and a tech guy, not a mathematician! --Swordzmanp236 (talk) 05:13, 5 April 2025 (UTC)

Attires[]

The articles that come to mind are Cloudy Wolf for Cloud, Leather Suit for Tifa, and Knight of Etro and Equilibrium (garb) for Lightning. I don't really support making articles for attires though, because I think Character name#Characteristics should be the location for any attire info. It's a bit weird that Prince's Fatigues is an article when that is the character's default appearance, but of course clothes do have stats in FFXV and can be swapped whenever so it is morel akin to equipment (since there is no armor). But it's not like those articles are dearth of content either, so clearly there's something to say about them!Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 19:08, 17 April 2025 (UTC)
