Has that really been the case with previous releases? Maybe it's just Lester's complaints that are getting to me, but it was my understanding that 5.4 and 5.5, both released after the release process RFC's adoption, have removed things and consequently broke backwards compatibility. Is that not the case? Or am I misunderstanding that RFC? It is admittedly a little ambiguous.
