I think that the best long-term solution is to replace ext/json with
> pecl/jsond, preferably in PHP 5.6.0.

5.6 is in feature freeze as it was pointed out. I need to do lots of
testing before proposing jsond as a core replacement. 5.7 is the target
though... ;)
