A hack over a hack remains a hack. With all respects to the authors and
what they achieved so far.

This is again wrong. It is not slow but a small memory usage increase. It
is even actually faster with the 64bit patch in many cases (based on
5.6+patch, phpng+patch coming as soon as I am done with making it portable)..

Wrong again. We show 4% increase.
