Stories that matter

Impact in Action

Our community members are at the heart of AMAAD’s story. Their experiences show what’s possible when healing and empowerment are centered.

Youth Development & Diversion

As part of our Youth Development & Diversion work, AMAAD hosted a Life Skills Workshop attended by students from Learn 4 Life. With a focus on resume-building and career readiness, participants walked away with tangible tools for job applications and next steps.

“The counselor who supervised the workshop gave great feedback. The youth were engaged and really appreciated the one-on-one help.”

This training helped instill knowledge, change behaviors, and boost participant confidence, proving once again how small group learning can create big results.

As part of our youth empowerment work, AMAAD organized a YJC (Youth Justice Coalition) Tour for a small group of five participants. The program focused on building community awareness, communication skills, and leadership.

Participants gained firsthand exposure to civic engagement and systems-based advocacy, helping them see new possibilities for their future involvement.

Whole Person Care

This intimate group discussion brought together young participants to explore themes of identity, health, and future aspirations.

Through structured conversation and peer support, attendees gained leadership experience, wellness insights, and academic guidance, a testament to the healing power of safe spaces.

Outcomes included increased knowledge, reduced barriers to self-expression, and greater peer connection.

Community Engagement & Outreach

With over 25 attendees, the Aviva Resource Fair marked a milestone for AMAAD’s first solo outreach event led by a new team member.

“This was my first outreach event by myself while working at AMAAD. I felt confident, prepared, and proud to share resources with the community.”

Events like these help us amplify resources, grow our reach, and develop the next generation of leaders.

This community fair provided more than backpacks it delivered hope, connection, and access to wellness resources.

Focused on healthier lifestyle choices and relationship-building, the event supported youth and families as they prepared for a new school year.

It was a powerful reminder that meeting material needs can open doors to lasting impact.

At a recent Food Bank outreach event, over 45 community members came together to access resources and build meaningful connections. Through this program, participants gained experience in leadership, communication, and community-building.

Observed outcomes included shifts in attitudes, increased access to resources, and improved community trust demonstrating AMAAD’s holistic approach to healing and empowerment.
