yesterday comment added Daniel T This question is similar to: Ubuntu-Mate 24.04, help for understanding : No 26.04 LTS version will be released. If you believe it’s different, please edit the question, make it clear how it’s different and/or how the answers on that question are not helpful for your problem.

yesterday comment added guiverc Ubuntu MATE Discourse closure schedule has been delayed a tad due to some complications; but its still being worked on (just dates will be a little later those listed on plans) [ Inactive accounts (created by never posted anything) have been purged etc so some stats differ, also reducing size of archive ] For official news on the project, I'd look on Ubuntu Discourse, but other than Martin's recent post (my-yesterday) there is no news (we were given some details on who has stepped up to take over etc)
yesterday comment added guiverc You'll have to wait; there was NO Ubuntu MATE 26.04 LTS release; but existing users will be able to release-upgrade to it, and new installs (of Ubuntu or other flavors) can switch their systems to Ubuntu MATE (26.04), but the new development team have not said anything about how the project will be in the future (ie. Ubuntu MATE 26.10) so any answer currently will be inaccurate/speculation or "you'll have to wait and see". Martin's last posts highlighted linuxmatters.sh/80 so have you listened to that?
