Soil and Origin
Soil:Calcareous, limestone-rich soils. With a high limestone and calcium carbonate content, these soils help retain acidity, slow ripening and impart an enhanced mineral expression.
Origin:D.O. Limari Valley. Campo Lindo, Ovalle, on the banks of the Limari River, Chile
Tasting Notes
Bouquet:Light ruby-red color. Aromas of red fruits, such as cherries and raspberries, rosehip and spice.
Taste:It offers an enveloping entrance on the palate, a crisp and juicy acidity with fine-grained tannins and a good grip. A persistent wine.
Food Pairing:This very versatile wine makes a great pairing with charcuterie, goat cheeses or fondue. Also delicious with duck, rabbit. salmon or grilled tuna.
Winemaking
Selected bunches (30% as whole grape clusters) transported by gravity into open-top wooden or concrete fermentation tanks. Native yeast fermentation followed by malolactic. Aged 11months in 225-liter French oak barrels: new (51%) and 1year (35%), 10% in 500 l French oak new and 5% in concrete egg-shaped tank. Natural stabilization and minimal filtration.

Emiliana 2022 Maycas

A very firm and crunchy pinot with sliced strawberries, orange peel, hibiscus and lemon rind. Medium-bodied with lightly chewy tannins and a citrusy finish. Plenty going on. 30% whole cluster. Clones 150 and 777. Better in a couple of years.
