Jen Kelly reposted thisJen Kelly reposted thisSmall businesses thrive when opportunity meets visibility and that’s exactly where Visa shows up. By bringing small businesses closer to more customers, Visa puts entrepreneurs in the spotlight and helps them turn moments of attention into meaningful growth. It’s the approach we took with our Olympics spot featuring gold medalist Mik Kingsbury and Pehr, the thoughtfully designed children’s brand founded by Jen Kelly and Becca Perren. Pairing world‑class athletic achievement with a purpose‑driven small business underscored what Visa does best: elevate local stories on the biggest stages. https://lnkd.in/gGHCG9mR From major global events like the Winter Olympic Games to local initiatives like the Visa Grant Program, Visa connects people with the brands, businesses, and entrepreneurs in their communities making it easier to discover, support, and spend within Canada. Because when business owners are given the platform to shine, small businesses don’t just get noticed; they grow. And when small businesses win, communities win. #SmallBusiness #WomenFounders becca perren #Entrepreneurship https://pehr.com/ https://lnkd.in/g89jrF3e

In our latest Canadian Marketing Association podcast, Allison Litzinger, SVP, Chief Marketing Officer at SEPHORA Canada answers that question and many more. Allison and I share more than a first name. We also took a similar approach to our careers – starting with agencies where we rose through the ranks before taking on leadership roles client-side, where we led creative and business transformations. It was fun sharing stories from being on both sides of the marketing profession. Our conversation provides terrific learning for marketers at every stage in their career. Jen Kelly liked thisJen Kelly liked thisWe’re thrilled to share some big news: Hapiko will now be part of the Spin Master family! We created Stickerbox around a simple belief: technology for kids should be built from the ground up for them: helping them imagine freely, create with their hands, and learn through play. Joining Spin Master marks an exciting new chapter for our small but mighty team, and an incredible opportunity to bring Stickerbox -and that vision- to even more kids and families around the world. We’re deeply grateful to everyone who believed in Stickerbox, brought it into their homes, shared their creations, and helped us build this magical community. We can’t wait to start creating together! 💫

Hapiko is best-known for developing Stickerbox, a trailblazing creative tool designed to bring children’s ideas to life. Stickerbox leverages Hapiko’s child-safe, AI-empowered operating system to transform spoken ideas into stickers ready to color, collect and share. Print a cat having a spa day or a picnic at the beach – the possibilities are endless. By pairing Hapiko’s platform with our own innovation, we look forward to accelerating the future of play and giving more kids access to creative tools to bring their ideas into the real world.

Jen Kelly liked thisJen Kelly liked this17 years (!) after co-founding Her Campus Media as a Harvard undergrad with Windsor Hanger Western & Annie Wang, including 15 years of bootstrapped growth and 2 years since our strategic transaction with a world-class financial partner, it is with enormous complexity of emotion—but mostly immense pride—that I have decided to transition from CEO to board director at the end of this month before embarking on a new chapter of impact in September. Coming off our strongest quarter & strongest 12 months in company history, and having already surpassed our full-year 2025 numbers by July, I couldn’t possibly have more conviction in HCM's future. I am so excited to support my brilliant co-founder, forever friend & forever hotel roommate Windsor Hanger Western who will become HCM's President & CEO, our extraordinary leadership team, and unmatched staff in HCM's next stage of growth. Building the company for the past 17 years has been an enormous honor, an even more enormous learning opportunity, and a journey that has been at times grueling, at times exhilarating, and always meaningful. We’ve been a community company since day one, and I’m inspired every day by our community members who are the heart and soul of what we do. Unlocking opportunities for them is the mission that perpetually guides our work, supported by so many unbelievable brands who share in this. What started as a Harvard student publication has become a global mission-driven ecosystem across 2,300+ campuses, all 50 states & 130 countries, social reach of 1.3B+, 130,000+ current community members, hundreds of thousands of alums who are now EICs, CEOs, CMOs & leaders across media, marketing, tech, social impact & more, and reverberations that have reached the UN, the White House, and beyond. We also received a cease and desist letter at one point from Beyonce's lawyer for an April Fool's joke that was just a little too believable. I’ve made it clear to my team that my transition is not a goodbye, but an evolution of my role from co-founder & CEO to co-founder, board director & shareholder. I remain steadfastly passionate about, and invested in, the company's future and manifesting its sky-high ambitions. Thank you to every team member, community member, client, and partner who made this chapter more special than I ever could have imagined when we launched HCM as 20-year-old college students with an idea we called "the magazine of the future" that has since transformed, evolved, and expanded across almost two decades of shifts in media. I would not be stepping away except for a singularly unique opportunity to drive impact in a new way in my next chapter, in a role I feel deeply called to take on in this moment. But for now, I am taking the rest of this summer to reflect, recharge, be outside, read, run, organize my house (& entire life), and gear up for my next challenge. And then I can’t wait to lock in in September and share the role I'll be taking on next.

Jen Kelly reacted on thisJen Kelly reacted on thisA couple of months ago, I made the decision to step away from work, to focus my time and energy on family. It wasn't an easy one, especially to leave such a wonderful team at Bell - where I managed to go all 8.5 years without losing my passcard! What an amazing ride it was, and I am proud to have been a part of great work, including Bell Let's Talk, Bell for Better, Bell Starting Line (shout out to the COC), Bell Inbound Assist (shout out to MLSE Foundation), Olympic campaigns, the overhaul of the Bell brand in 2008 (while at Leo Burnett) and its refresh in 2025. The last few weeks at work were bittersweet as I said thank you and goodbye to so many wonderful colleagues and partners. A special shout out to Devorah Lithwick. How lucky I was to work with, and for her - she is a true brand champion, an inspiring leader and a friend I could always count on. And to my Brand, Sponsorship, MKC, Social, Media Strategy, Digital Activation, National Events and Customer Hosting Team...it was a privilege and an honour to lead you through the ups, downs and everything in between. You are the best. Cheers to you all. dk

Energizing to see the innovation X is bringing to Canada for both users and brands, proof of what strong partnerships can unlock when insight, scale, and ambition come together. Excited for what’s ahead as we build toward the FIFA World Cup ⚽ Big thanks to Jeremy Reisler and the incredible Visa team Kelly Cranston Aryana Hassan Christopher Gorski. The impact speaks for itself.

After her first semester at #QueensU in 1977, Julie Epplett, Artsci’81, was prepared to withdraw. She felt disconnected from her courses and unsure of her next step. A Christmas Day meeting with Dean Duncan Sinclair offered simple guidance: stay, explore, and study what genuinely interests you. That advice shaped a global career in travel, hospitality, and dance, and helped Julie build a life grounded in curiosity and purpose. Nearly fifty years later, she reunited with the dean who helped her see a different path. Read Julie’s full story: https://bit.ly/3RNALVk #Queensalumnireview

Heads up - Canada is not growing. And with that... The industry consensus that marketing must become more precise, more personalized, and more individually targeted is exactly wrong for infrequent-purchase industries, like banking or cars, in a flat-growth market. When almost nobody is in the market today, and everybody might be in the market eventually, the job is to be broadly, distinctively and consistently remembered, and then to be findable and frictionless at the moment of need. Precision serves the second half. It cannot substitute for the first.
