Neil Freyke reposted thisNeil Freyke reposted thisProgress often begins quietly - with someone who chooses to show courage, create space, and open the way for others. This International Women’s Day, we honour the women whose example shapes confidence, expands possibility, and inspires the next generation to lead. At Sagicor, we believe that when opportunity is shared and women are supported to lead, the impact reaches far beyond the individual - strengthening families, institutions, and communities. #IWD2026 #Sagicor #GivingWomenSpaceToLead #GainingGreaterImpact #GiveToGain

Neil Freyke shared thisSometimes I've used the lyrics of this song in meetings as a lyrical way to say "the effort you put into something now, will pay off later when the right opportunity comes up". When I was a young lad at Memorial University, we listened to Stompin' Tom Connors on repeat and got to know all his songs. Now unless you are watching a Leafs game, you would be hard pressed to hear anything by Stompin' Tom. He was a Canadian folk legend and always brings a smile when I hear him. Check out his quirky songs and learn a bit about what makes Canada so great!! Enjoy! https://lnkd.in/g93DTwZb #Canada #HappyVibes

Over the past week we’ve provided support to more than 600 individuals, including our team members and their relatives across Westmoreland, St. Elizabeth, St. James, Trelawny, and Hanover. But this is just the beginning. Sagicor has committed J$200 million dollars to Jamaica’s national recovery efforts. Neil Freyke shared thisAppealing for your support to help with relief efforts in Jamaica. On October 28, Hurricane Melissa slammed into Jamaica as a catastrophic Category 5 storm – the strongest hurricane ever recorded to hit the island. With sustained winds of 185 mph, Melissa has left unimaginable devastation in its wake. Over 1.5 million people have been affected – entire communities flattened – and more than 70% of the country remains without power. Roads are blocked, hospitals are overwhelmed, and communications are down. We are only now beginning to grasp the full extent of the destruction as families slowly reconnect with their loved ones. I’ve heard from friends and colleagues whose family members are sleeping in their cars because their homes are completely gone. It’s truly heartbreaking. Jamaica needs our support now more than ever. Relief efforts are underway, but the scale of this crisis is immense and recovery will be a long journey. If you’re able to contribute, please consider donating to the relief efforts through reputable organizations on the ground. Every bit of help counts. Here are a few agencies accepting donations to support Jamaica’s recovery: - Jamaica Disaster Relief Fund (Government of Jamaica) – official hurricane relief fund ( https://lnkd.in/g7yx4JFJ) - Red Cross – international disaster relief (Canadian Red Cross link for Melissa relief) ( https://lnkd.in/gEEMamnM ) - Project STAR Jamaica – community rebuilding initiative (projectstarja.com) Please help spread the word even if you cannot donate. Sharing this post or talking about the situation can also make a difference by raising awareness. Jamaica has shown incredible resilience in the face of this tragedy, but they cannot recover alone. #sagicorstrong #onecarribean #staystrongjamaica #HurricaneMelissa #Jamaica #DisasterRelief #HurricaneRelief #Caribbean #JamaicaStrong

We have a special team here at Sagicor - that is making an impact and focused on our customers and all the beautiful communities we operate in. A big congrats to our four technology team mates (Larry, Vishnu, Anderson, and Shaakir) that received special recognition for all their efforts! I was inspired by their stories and appreciated their candour and advice on how we can better serve our customers. Last night’s insights highlighted the need for greater simplicity, ease of use and more personalization. We are taking this feedback to help shape our digital roadmap and how we can strengthen Sagicor’s customer experience! Neil Freyke reacted on thisNeil Freyke reacted on thisToday is my last day at Accenture. After nearly a decade, it’s hard to capture what this chapter has meant to me. Since joining in 2017, I’ve had the privilege of working with incredible people, serving some amazing clients, and taking on leadership roles that have challenged me, taught me, and shaped me — most recently leading Strategy & Consulting and Industry & Enterprise Reinvention in Canada. What I’ll remember most, though, are the people and the relationships. I’m deeply grateful to everyone who trusted me, challenged me, supported me, and shared this journey with me - there are literally too many names to mention. Thank you, Accenture. It has been an extraordinary chapter of my career, and I leave with enormous respect and appreciation for the people who made it so special. As for what’s next… I’ll have more to share very soon. A new chapter is about to begin. 🚀 Onward. Paulo

Neil Freyke reacted on thisNeil Freyke reacted on thisI’m incredibly grateful and excited to share that after a 19-month medical leave, I’m returning to my role at CPP Investments. Facing cancer for a second time challenged me in ways I could never have anticipated, both physically and mentally. The road back included a 10 hour surgery, weeks in hospital, months of home nursing care, learning how to chew, swallow and eat again, and countless hours of treatment, rehabilitation and speech therapy. It has been a long road, and one that has taught me a great deal about grit. Grit isn’t always about pushing harder. Sometimes it’s about patience. Accepting that progress isn’t always linear. Celebrating the small wins. And finding a way to keep moving forward, even when the finish line feels a long way away. I’m deeply grateful to the incredible medical professionals who cared for me throughout this journey, and to my family, friends, and past and present colleagues who supported and encouraged me along the way. A special thank you to my partner Rheana Singh, who stood firmly beside me through every stage of this journey. I truly could not have done this without her, and I’m looking forward to getting back to life and traveling together again. I’m incredibly appreciative of my team and colleagues across CPP Investments for the patience, compassion and support they’ve shown me throughout my leave. Knowing I had that support made a difficult chapter that little bit easier, and I’m excited to reconnect as I settle back into my role. I’m ready for this next chapter, getting back to the work I enjoy and bringing with me a renewed sense of perspective, purpose and gratitude.

Neil Freyke liked thisNeil Freyke liked thisI joined CNBC Squawk Box this morning to share a simple message to global investors: You’re under-indexed to Canada right now. With the map of global capital changing and more than $100 trillion of global investment converging on Toronto this week, I really believe this is Canada's moment of reappraisal. There’s a risk-on sentiment toward Canada, and we're seeing it in equities and deal flow for mid-market opportunities, and in foreign direct investment, which is at a two-decade high. Much of this is driven by concrete government action to remove barriers to growth and help spur more investable opportunities—from the Major Projects Office that speeds up the approval of large-scale projects to a sharper focus on tax competitiveness and incentives that encourage businesses to invest. As Canada's biggest bank and one of the largest in the world, RBC is at the centre of the country's investment opportunity. That's why we're mobilizing $1.4 billion through the RBCx Growth Fund I to back Canadian tech companies with the potential to become global powerhouses. Neil Freyke liked thisNeil Freyke liked thisAnd that’s a wrap on the WorldatWork Canada Summit! 👏 I had the chance to speak twice this year, first with Katrena Munsch on redesigning the disability leave experience, and then leading a conversation on what happens when leaders don’t believe the compensation data. Katrena and I shared our experience redesigning the disability leave journey at Sun Life using design thinking. We talked about what happens when you start with the employee experience instead of the process, using what we heard from employees to challenge assumptions, understand where the experience was breaking down and design something that better reflected what people actually needed. I also got to lead a conversation on something I suspect most compensation professionals have experienced at some point. What do you do when leaders don’t believe the data? We ended up talking about everything from knowing when more data isn’t going to solve the problem to making compensation concepts relevant to the audience in front of you. Sometimes building buy-in means spending a little less time talking like a compensation expert. Thank you to WorldatWork for the opportunity, and to everyone who joined the sessions, asked questions and shared their own experiences. And a special thank you to my current team at Sagicor Financial Company Ltd. and former colleagues from Sun Life who came out to support us. I loved having so many familiar faces in the room. Lots of ideas to take away from this one, and a few conversations I’d like to keep going. #WorldatWork #TotalRewards #Compensation #EmployeeExperience #DesignThinking #WorldatWorkCanadaSummit

As the only Canadian scientist aboard the Tara Polar Station, he’ll spend eight months frozen into the Arctic sea ice, studying how the ecosystem changes through an entire year. This once-in-a-lifetime journey into one of the most remote places on Earth will allow him to study how changing seasons transform Arctic ecosystems, from microscopic plankton to larger marine food webs. Canada's banking landscape is transforming rapidly! With firm regulatory deadlines for the Real-Time Rail (RTR) rollout and Open Banking Write Access (mid-2027), immediate, API-driven core capabilities are no longer optional. For Financial Institutions relying on highly stable but fundamentally batch-based core systems, a full "rip-and-replace" is often too risky and slow. The solution is the Digital Twin (DTW) architecture. It provides a modern, real-time layer that mirrors your core ledger, allowing you to: 💠Launch RTR & Open Banking: Deliver compliant, instant services without core disruption. 💠Ensure Stability: Preserve your mainframe for back-office tasks while the DTW handles all real-time transaction demands. Don't wait until 2026 to begin the implementation necessary to meet the mid-2027 deadline. The time for defining your modernization path is now.

We applaud the federal government on the introduction of the Budget Implementation Act. This legislation is key to modernizing Canada's payments ecosystem by: - Boosting security: Combatting consumer-targeted fraud. - Expanding access: Helping credit unions grow and moving forward with the consumer-driven banking legislative framework. - Balancing safety and innovation: Creating a regulated space for stablecoins. This is a critical step toward a more #secure, #competitive and #innovative future for payments in Canada. Read the announcement here: https://lnkd.in/gQ5ZsYmX #PaymentsMatter
