Technical Specifications

The accessibility of the Canali website depends on the following technologies to ensure compatibility with browsers and assistive technologies:

  • HTML5: semantic content structure
  • CSS3: responsive design and visual presentation
  • JavaScript: interactive features and dynamic content
  • WAI-ARIA: accessibility attributes for complex interfaces

These technologies are selected for their broad compatibility and ability to provide accessible experiences across different devices and platforms.

Non-accessible Content

Despite our commitment, we are aware of some limitations that we are actively addressing. The known issues and expected timelines are described below:

Currently Known Issues:

1. Button Accessibility

Some interactive buttons do not have sufficient accessible names, making them harder to understand for screen reader users. This affects:

  • Some navigation elements
  • Product interaction buttons
  • Social sharing buttons

Resolution timeline: We are adding appropriate ARIA labels to all interactive elements. Completion is expected by Q4 2026.

2. Colour Contrast

Some text and interface elements, particularly in the website footer and in some disabled buttons, do not yet meet the minimum contrast ratio recommended by WCAG for optimal readability.

Resolution timeline: Completion is expected by Q4 2026.

3. Product Images

Some images may not have complete alternative descriptions that adequately describe the visual details relevant to understanding luxury fashion products.

Resolution timeline: Implementation of improved alternative-text protocols is expected in Q1 2027.

4. Contact and Appointment Booking Forms

Some fields in the “Contact Us” and “Request an appointment” forms may not be correctly identified by screen readers or voice recognition software.

Resolution timeline: We are correcting the association between labels and form fields so they can be correctly identified by screen readers. The activity is planned for Q4 2026.

5. Keyboard Focus Indicator

During keyboard navigation, some controls, including search, account access, wishlist and certain video content, may not display a sufficiently visible selection indicator.

Resolution timeline: Implementation of keyboard navigation indicators is planned for Q4 2026.

Our assessment also identified areas requiring ongoing manual testing:

  • Complex product filtering and sorting interfaces
  • Multi-step checkout process
  • Accessibility of video content
  • Size and spacing of touch targets on mobile devices
  • Keyboard navigation flow in complex layouts

We conduct regular manual reviews to improve the overall user experience.
