Internships

Overview

Our program offers a rewarding experience for learning about administrative and daily functions of the House of Representatives. Interns are accepted during the spring and fall semesters as well as during the summer. We are now accepting applications for our Summer 2026 internship through April 1, 2026.

Responsibilities

Interns are responsible for both administrative and legislative duties. Administrative tasks include answering phones, greeting visitors, sorting mail, entering data, and drafting correspondence. Legislative support includes performing research, drafting public statements, prepping materials for hearings, attending hearings and briefings, reaching out to agencies and other congressional offices, and a host of various special projects.

Interested candidates should be aware that there is a Majority (Republican) and a Minority (Democrat) office within the committee.

If you would like to be considered for the Summer 2026 Republican office internship, please email a copy of your resume and a cover letter to CHAInternGOP@mail.house.gov to be considered. Those interested in interning for the Minority (Democrat) office, can find their contact information on their website.
