Sobre nosotros

ArchDaily is the global reference for architecture. We empower architects and creative minds shaping the built environment - through insight, knowledge, and tools - to drive the next chapter of architecture together. With 11+ million monthly visits, a global presence and a community that spans students, professionals, and the next generation of world builders, ArchDaily is where the architecture industry comes to learn, discover, and make better decisions. For nearly two decades, we've been a daily working tool for creatives at every stage of their careers - across geographies and disciplines. Led by architects, our work is human-made, grounded in expertise, research, and lived practice. We curate with purpose, not volume. We select, frame, and contextualize architecture so it can be understood, challenged, and used. For our 350+ partners, that means direct access to the most engaged architecture audience in the world - the people specifying materials, selecting products, and shaping the built environment every day. Our vision is simple: a world built with care. And we give the people who build it the best possible tools to do so.

What if the point of prepper culture isn't paranoia, but a genuinely useful architectural question? This piece treats survivalism seriously: not as bunkers and doomsday fantasy, but as a way of exposing how dependent every house already is on invisible systems, water, power, communication, that we assume will simply keep working. The real lesson isn't building a fortress. It's designing redundancy into ordinary homes, so a single point of failure doesn't take down everything else with it. • The office chair has always mirrored the way people work, from rows of fixed wooden seats to mesh-backed ergonomic designs. Today, its biggest changes are happening inside the object. Sensors, a control chip and a motorized lumbar mechanism allow responsive seating like the HBADA X7 to adjust support as posture shifts, reflecting a wider move toward technology that disappears into design. • Matriz House by Estúdio Zargos in Brazil Closing itself off at the sides to preserve privacy, the residence directs views toward the landscape while establishing continuity between interior spaces, water, and nature. Engineering is concentrated at the boundaries, freeing the inner core for spacious, fluid, and adaptable areas. Brise-soleils, strategic openings, and skylights regulate changing conditions of light and shadow throughout the day. #Photography: Manuel Sá, Studio Tertulia See the full project through the link https://lnkd.in/gUc5M_xj

What if scarcity were the best thing that ever happened to Irish design? Across a country where much of the housing stock is aging, protected, or both, and where embodied carbon makes demolition harder to justify, architects have turned renovation into genuine invention: rooflights cut into dark plans, new structures inserted independently inside old shells, brick bonds carried forward into new forms. The lesson these seven projects offer isn't a style. It's a method for reading what already exists. • Architecture in Motion: What Yacht Design Teaches Us About Space and Materials Unlike stationary buildings, naval architecture operates under conditions of constant movement and extreme environmental constraints. Every kilogram impacts vessel stability, while every surface must withstand salt spray, humidity, and constant UV exposure. In collaboration with Dornbracht, we examine how combining spatial efficiency, dynamic daylighting, and high-performance material selection turns strict footprints into generous, fluid environments through three case studies: REN 62, Santosha, and Ocean Z. • auruBOROS - Urban Memory and Collective Dream by Plastique Fantastique in United States Transforming the ancient image of the Ouroboros into a temporary urban organism, the installation connects architecture, public space, and collective experience. Rather than reproducing the serpent as a fixed symbol, its traditional circle is opened and extended into the city, responding to the multiple urban layers of the High Line through pneumatic architecture. #Photography: Park Swan, Ⓒ Lavinia Freitas, Marco Canevacci Take a closer look at the project through the link https://lnkd.in/eMwuRSVW

  • Volcanic ground is never finished. Lava hardens, forests return, and ash settles for years, so building there means living with terrain that has changed before and may change again. The projects here show that relationship at different distances: a peak that orients a plan, gases that dictate a building's height, lava or cinder that becomes the ground or the wall itself. The pull of these places and their instability turn out to be the same thing. • House in Kagurazaka by Takumi Wakui + Riho Wakui Architects in Japan Within a compact footprint and tight urban conditions, spatial sequencing becomes a way to negotiate density without isolating domestic space from its surroundings. Vertical and horizontal sightlines organize relationships across the interior, while strategically placed openings and lightwells bring natural light deep into the living spaces. Raw materials and carefully refined details reinforce continuity across the different levels. #Photography: Shun Fukuda, Norihito Yamauchi Discover more about the project here https://lnkd.in/eycFrfPm
