Deletion of file:Shaul Markovitch Portrait.jpg from WikiCommons
[edit]Dear CptViraj, I noticed you deleted a media file I've uploaded and I'll appreciate your help in doing things correctly. I was asked to upload a portrait photo of mine to WikiCommons. I read the instructions and understood that I should upload the image and get copyright release from the photographer within 30 days. The photographer sent a release in time and received an automatic acknowledgement ( Ticket# 2025081810010386) on August 18th. I understand that VRT has a backlog of 38 days right now, but now the image was deleted by you. I know that I could have the Photographer do the upload but I wanted to save him the hassle as he is not as technically oriented as me. What can be done? Shaulm (talk) 09:47, 28 August 2025 (UTC)
- @Shaulm: Hi. For record, the file was at File:Shaul Markovitch in 2017.jpg which was deleted by Krd, not me, I deleted File:Shaul Markovitch's Portrait.jpg which was a redirect to the former. And don't worry, please get an update from the VRT team via email or COM:VRT/N, the file will be restored if the permission is accepted. -- CptViraj (talk) 13:03, 28 August 2025 (UTC)
