All of my municipal policies are built within the ~$19 Billion Dollar Toronto Operational Budget. Some policies leverage our ~$63 Billion Toronto Capital Budget (ex., infrastructure specific; housing and transit being chief among them).

Tertiary funding pools are made up of revenue as a product of surplus when financial KPIs are hit (ex., some policies, like those related to Creative Enablement & Tourism, scale with our ~$9 billion dollar tourism economy).

Toronto isn’t an ordinary city. We are the economic and cultural heart of the nation (ex., ~40-50% of Ontario’s ~$3.3 billion dollar GDP comes from Toronto; Toronto is the most populated city in the province with ~17-20% of Ontario residents living in Toronto.

An economically prosperous, innovation focused and safe Ontario begins in Toronto.

The Next Mayor of Toronto will need to operate in that liminal space between municipality and province, and leverage the Office of Mayor to champion policy solutions to the failures of Doug Ford and his PC Government.

Let the record state: all of my Mayoral policies are municipal responses to issues that impact The Working Class.

Unfortunately, most issues, and specifically Cost of Living by way of rental affordability, are addressed most directly by the Provincial Government.

Their negligence to the well being of the working class, and the necessity to mitigate cost of living threats, is what inspires me to ideate unconventional local solutions specific to Toronto, and await a more competent Ontario government.
