Homosexualization

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In 2026, in the context of the war between the United States and Israel against Iran, the CIA and Donald Trump claimed that the newly appointed Supreme Leader of Iran, Mojtaba Khamenei, was homosexual.[1]

Homosexualization is the practice of attributing a homosexual orientation to individuals who are heterosexual, or whose sexual orientation is unknown, usually in order to discredit or ridicule them.[2]

This type of propaganda has been used especially in social contexts marked by homophobia, where widespread rejection of homosexuality can create a negative perception of politicians, leaders, or public figures.[3]

From the Cold War to the present day, it has been a common disinformation practice of the CIA aimed at damaging the reputation of foreign leaders, such as Raúl Castro, Yasser Arafat, Saddam Hussein, Osama bin Laden, Muammar Gaddafi or Mojtaba Khamenei.[4][5][6]
