January 2026

[edit]

Hello RandomPerson238. Regarding the recent revert you made: you may already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template index/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. Thank you. Lynch44 22:06, 20 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for telling me! I’ve done that. RandomPerson238 (talk) 22:13, 20 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Please just deny recognition and ignore, rather than comment. 45dogs (they/them) (talk page) (contributions) 03:48, 14 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I frequently forget about this. I'll try to remember to ignore them more. Thanks for the reminder. RandomPerson238 04:03, 14 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Baldi's Basics reverted edit

[edit]

Hello! I'm new here, so obviously you know more than me. However, I was just wondering, why did you revert the edits I made on the Baldi's Basics in Education and Learning Page? (correcting characters names Bully --> It's a Bully, Principal --> Principal of the Thing) (You mentioned it as "unconstructive", so could you also just tell me what that means specifically? Thanks!) Cheesybear1337 (talk) 01:09, 18 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]

As always, I make mistakes all the time. I think that you should be right in this case after I looked into this a little more. (The rest of the article did not have these names, neither did the sources, but other places seem to agree with you). Sorry for reverting your edit. (In general, "unconstructive" means the editor thinks it's not helpful, but is not qualify as vandalism). RandomPerson238 01:17, 18 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]
OK, thanks. Should I add these changes, or will you? Cheesybear1337 (talk) 01:20, 18 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry! I did not see your message. You can change them, or I can. Either of us is ok. I'll let you do it unless you want me to do it. RandomPerson238 01:21, 18 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Anyways, feel free to redo your edit. RandomPerson238 01:20, 18 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]
If possible, i'd rather you do it, as I wouldn't consider myself "professional" enough to do so, LOL. Appreciate it alot. Cheesybear1337 (talk) 01:24, 18 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]
I've done it! Also, I saw [1]. Either this page or Wikipedia is copying from each other. (Nothing you have to do, just a note) RandomPerson238 01:31, 18 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Adminship

[edit]

Alice Nicole Smith reverted your edits and added a few more things on her adminship page. I can't revert it because of conflicting edits. — Versions111 (talkcontribs) 11:34, 19 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Also, The temporary account who voted Alice is herself, considering the TA only has one edits one associated account. Versions111 (talkcontribs) 11:40, 19 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Nevermind, the adminship election ended. Versions111 (talkcontribs) 11:42, 19 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for letting me know. (I don't see why you can't revert it though, it's completely uncontroversial.) The user is blocked now. RandomPerson238 15:48, 19 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]

May 2026 Administrator Election – Call for Candidates

[edit]

The administrator elections process has officially started! Interested editors are encouraged to self-nominate or arrange to be nominated by reviewing the instructions at Wikipedia:Administrator elections/May 2026/Candidates.

Here is the schedule:

  • April 29 – May 5: Call for candidates
  • May 8–12: Discussion phase
  • May 13–19: SecurePoll voting phase

Please note the following:

  • The requirements to run are identical to RFA—a prospective candidate must be extended confirmed.
  • Prospective candidates are advised to become familiar with the community's expectations of administrators, which are much higher than the minimum requirement of having extended confirmed status. This includes reviewing successful and unsuccessful RFAs, reading the essay Wikipedia:Advice for admin elections candidates, and possibly requesting an optional poll on their chances of passing.
  • The process will have a seven day call for candidates phase, a two day pause, a five day discussion phase, and a seven day private vote using SecurePoll. Discussion and questions are only allowed on the candidate pages during the discussion phase.
  • The outcome of this process is identical to making a request for adminship. There is no official difference between an administrator appointed through RFA versus administrator elections.
  • Administrator elections are also a valid means of regaining adminship for de-sysopped editors.

Ask any questions about the process at the talk page. Later, a user talk message will be sent to official candidates with additional information about the process.

If you are interested in the process, please make sure to watchlist the appropriate pages. A watchlist notice will be added when the discussion phase opens, and again when the voting phase opens.
